    PALM HARBOR, Fla. -- Tiger Woods announced Tuesday that he is returning to golf at the Masters.

    "The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta," Woods said in a statement.

    "The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it's been a while since I last played."

    Woods has been on an indefinite leave from the game since a Nov. 27 crash outside his Florida home spawned revelations of marital infidelity. He has not played since Nov. 15, when he won the Australian Masters in Melbourne for his 82nd career victory.

    "I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment. Although I'm returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life."

    yah Im watching on espn. Its the move, it was a no brainer he was going to play the Masters. All the sponsors, espn, and CBS just got simultaneous hard ons and came all over themselves

    should be dominant as usual....hope he loses tho honestly I like seeing other people win like Ernie Els, Steve Stricker etc.

    Eh, well see in a few days. Hes my favorite golfer so its not like i want to root for him to miss it. Find me a line on him making the cut somewhere.

    Edit - hes 1-20 to make the cut. LOL. Guy hasnt played on tour in 6 months. I would take that action...

    When tiger wins the masters by 5 strokes, all the other golfers should pay him 10k a piece, and say thank you for saving the sport this year and getting the prize pools back up to redic amounts. Also, we suck as golfers and that you can take off 144 days, bang pornstars, get hit in the face with a golf club, and still crush us.

    Pretty sure the ridiculous prices you were able to get on him winning the Masters like 2 months ago will be no longer available. By the end of the day he'll be 2-1 at worst...
