Tiger Woods' wife Elin is now pregnant with a little boy. Does this now mean that Tiger Woods starts to skip majors since he only plays like 7 tourneys a year as it is? Congrats anyways.
-
I would def split one w/her
-
I dont really mind that he only plays s few a year. Why plaly more? He has to be worth a billion by now anyways. If he no longer enjoys being on tour al fucking year, play only the majors fuck it. He'll make moere by showing up to 3 tournaments that i might in my entire life
-
A) Id hit it
B) I think Tiger Jr. will be at the course as soon as he comes out of the womb
C) Word is he already got accepted to Stanford on a full ride Golf Scholarship...
Ok so C was lame, but whatever I tried -
in fairness, B) was pretty bad as well.
-
He will not play less, he will play more. A new rule is in effect where you have to play a certain number of tourneys to qualify for the Fed Ex Cup. He is a competitor and strives to be the best year in and year out.
-
Play more? Tiger is awfully close to playing only events he is tied to other than majors. Not sure how long he can keep his domination with his focus not where it has been.
-
I wrote why he is playing more. HE HAS TO.
-
You have to play 15 to stay a member of the PGA Tour.
Theres 37 weeks of competition on the PGA tour. Tiger will not be over the 20 tournament mark this year FedEx Cup or not.
He played 15 events last year, add to that at most 4 more for the FedEx cup thats 19.
His 100% tournaments are:
Buick Inv
WGC Match Play
Arnold Palmer Inv (fromely Bay Hill)
The Players
The Masters
US Open
British Open
Buick Open
PGA Championship
Barclyas Classic
Deutschebank Championship
BMW Championship
Tour Championship
Thats it thats all the PGA Tour events he is guarenteed to play. Thats 13 tournaments, throw in the 2 other WGC I left out thats 15...thats my predicted schedule for Tiger Woods
He may also skip a big tournament such as the British, US, PGA depending on when his baby is born because we all know how much family means to Tiger.
He HAS to play more eh?
13 events played last year, would of won by 11,000 points 32,000 points to Jim Furyk's 21,000.
Yeah he needs to play a lot more an 11,000 point cushion isn't enough going into the FedEx Cup playoff for Tiger.... -
i laughed more at C) than i did at B).
and yeah his schedule isn't going to increase anytime fast. -
His schedule is only going to decrease due to this news. He does not have to play 15 events. Other players may need to otherwise they will lose their Pga tour card, but Tiger Woods can get invited to anything in the world he wants... a golf tourney or high limit poker game. He doesnt need a card to get in anywhere.
-
All I know for sure is that the kid will pop out all horsetoothed and chomping at the bit to beat his old mans ass at golf by the time he's 6.
-
Yes he does need to play 15 events.
Its a rule on the PGA Tour...He will not be a member of the PGA Tour if he doesn't. He is the reason they created this rule back in 2000 I believe and he has many times voiced his opinion against it. -
Here is a quote from him
How many FedEx Cup events will Tiger Woods enter? "I'm going to play every event next year," he said on Sunday, drawing laughter. "I'm not taking any weeks off."
Now I know he will not play all, but if he plays half, he plays 16. Which is more than 15. -
Well theres 33 regular season weeks plus the 4 week playoff so its actually 37 events.
If you look at his schedule last year he played 15 tournaments, of those 15 the BMW and the Deutcshe Bank are now FedEx Cup events and he played in both those tournaments in 2006.
The extra two tournaments will bring his total to a maximum of 18 tournaments this year, probably less because I think hes going to skip at least one when his kid is born.
He's obviously going to win the FedEx Cup...theres no one thats even going to challenge him for it, if someone comes within 10,000points they had an UNREAL season.
