  1. As some of you may know, my cousin (Dad's brothers kid) races Nascar. It's been quite the run watching my family go from local short trackers to having a hall of famer uncle and Brad is killing. Last year he had a shot to take down the whole thing which would have been cool because then our family would have an arca title a nationwide title and a cup title.

My dad raced back in the 60's and early 70's when Nascar was cool :) Anyway, I know most of you think it's hillbilly and so do I but hey, it's something.

  2. is this a brag of somthing your cousin accomplished and your taking credit for being related to him?
  3. GL to you cousin! Did your Dad have any success on the circuit in its early days?
  4. Nah, wacky. They didnt have any money to run. I think my dad won one big race back then. The Pocono 500. Congrats on that p5 open man! Thats one badge I wanted to bag!

Nah ssssvar, for one thing It could be a brag since everybody in my family inc me is what made my cousin happen in the the first place but it's more pride thing as a whole. Some people still have it ;)

  5. TYVM! :)

It is good to have family pride. I am very proud of my first cousin who lost to Al Gore for an academy award a few years ago. She didn't really even care that much, and didn't attend the ceremony as she was more busy with the adoption process of one of her children and that was more important to her. It is great when family supports each other instead of being jealous of one another. GL to your cousin this weekend!
  6. That's pretty awesome wacky. If I was to brag about anything it would def. be that I have managed to be a work at home dad for 80% of my 15 year old daughters life. Your cousin sounds like an awesome person.

OP might be useful to give a last name in the OP, commentators generally call people by their last name.

  19. i've been following brad on twitter for a while. easily the best tweeter in the sport. really funny and honest. and he responds to stuff too, not that i ask him a lot of questions or anything but he was on a roll once answering tweet after tweet so i asked him a few things and he replied within 10 minutes.

i thought he was kinda brash and arrogant in his nationwide days, but then he became a little more levelheaded in cup. he still speaks his mind though, and i really like that. it's tough for me to really become a fan of any driver nowadays, because most of them are boring as fuck or just bad at driving in general. i like most of the "older" guys in cup now and pull for basically anyone i don't dislike greatly. but watching brad drive with a broken ankle, getting even better during that period and following him on twitter i became quite the fan. really hoping he comes through sunday!

and fwiw, i also really came to like marcos ambrose the past few years. i love the road course races more than any other (maybe other than daytona/talladega), and he's such a likable guy who drives his ass off week after week. when he dominates the road courses, it's fun to watch because he is just so damn smooth with the car it's unreal, he's even smoother than jeff gordon was when he won like 6 road races in a row.

  20. I felt the same about Brad when he was in nationwide and really couldnt stand him tbh.Over the last year+ tho I've started to like him and respect him as a driver much more. Gl to him sunday. Hopefully he finishes 2nd. Leggo Kyle

  29. noob question here - whats the difference between todays race, a nationwide series race, and tomorrow's datyona 500? (is that a sprint cup race?) i don't understand the difference between the two.
