This is not meant to be a discussion about whether the practice of tipping is correct, but if you regularly tip are these spots where you tip and if so how much? Assume that in all situations the employee is very courteous and the service is good.
Situations:
1. You take a transportation company service to your hotel. This is not a hotel service but an outside service. Sign in the van says "Gratuity not included in ticket price." Driver takes your luggage in and out of the van (If amount of luggage is relevant you have 2 athletic duffle bags and a golf bag).
2. Hotel employee opens door of van and pulls your luggage into the hotel lobby (He did not take the bags up to our room)
3. Hotel employee calls the complimentary shuttle for you take to the golf course. He loads you clubs in the back of the shuttle.
4. Driver of the shuttle to the course. Sign in shuttle says "Gratuity not mandatory."
5. Valet at course takes your clubs out of van and to bag room.
6. After round, you leave your cart and clubs by bag room. Kid cleans them and takes them upstairs to be taken back.
7. Hotel employee calls you a cab.
8. Short cab ride (fare is 5 dollars) vs longer cab ride (fare is 30+ dollars).
Thanks for the advice. -

I know, I know, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to tipping but I really get annoyed when I don't ask for a certain service and then am expected to tip for it.
Example - was at a grocery store and gal pushed my bags out to the car (would have said no thanks but just how the situation happened was awkward to do that) so now I have to tip her a buck or 2.
I usually tip 20% at restaurants though, except now I think I'm going to scale that back a bit since waiters in MN make like $7/hr plus tips, fk that.
(if my income increased these figures would increase as well) -
In relation to your bag handling tips this tip doesn't really make sense, considering this task took a lot more effort than taking a bag out of a car.

Any1 else just feel cheap and not really worth it to be tipping 1-2 bucks, id almost rather give nothing then less then 5..thoughts?

In some clubs and bars over here you get attendants in the bathrooms. You wash your hands and they're coming over with fucking cologne and paper towels and literally drying your hands for you. FUCK OFF!!!
I can dry my own hands, I dont want your cheap ass cologne anywhere near me. Its shit that you have to work in a toilet but its not my fault and i'm not paying you for something I would normally do myself 99.9999% of the time.
