the $10 bottle was much much nicer
-
It usually is.
-
it just suited your taste better, it certainly wasn't nicer...
and no, it's usually not. generally you get what you pay for -
But.....
the 150$ bottle doesn't suck as much as you.
jus sayin. -
what was the $150 wine?
-
How could you tell?
-
I'm not a big wine drinker but i was at dinner with 5 people who like and know their wines. They all agreed the cheap bottle was a nicer and better quality wine.

I dont have a cultured pallete, the expensive bottle was a gift given to me a few months ago and today was an occasion to open it. Compared to the cheaper bottle it tasted bland and watery whereas the other was full bodied and crisp.
Price and value are definitely not the same thing in this case -
Man I've prob drank more wine in my life than all other alcoholic bevs combined. I've also taken many classes on it by some master sommeliers and have hosted several wine tastings. You would be suprised how many people prefer a lower priced wine in a blind taste test.

The tale of The Emporer's New Clothes comes to mind... -
So what kind of wine was it? Were both bottles the same type?
-
are you even comparing the same kind of wine? (ie: merlot v merlot)

many, many companies are recouping marketing and other costs. higher bottles often score under cheaper bottles. Cabs tend to cost higher than less thought of varieties, but surely aren't a higher quality.
Jack Daniels is well known as a shitty whiskey that charges a premium because they can, pure name recognition. -
dude... wut
-
if the $150 bottle was too new, it could taste watery.
