  1. Anyone besides me think tonight was the best set of episodes HBO has had in a long time? Was starting to get nervous that Boardwalk Emp was gonna be a flop, but tonights episode was the best so far and saved the season so far imo. Bored To Death was pretty damn funny and deserves more talk on here. And Kenny fuckin Powers was his usual. Never liked True Blood, so its been a while since I've seen 3 very good episodes in a row on hbo

  2. boardwalk empire is a good show and I will continue to watch, so many different characters to follow and very good stories.

Eastbound and Down is ok, some funny stuff in this episode, will keep watching as well.

I don't watch any of the others.
  3. Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death, and Eastbound and Down all kickin ass so far.

Empire especially. That interrogation scene was intense.

  4. I had never heard of Bored to Death until I saw an ad for it the night before this seasons' premiere. I watched the whole first season that night and am now completely hooked. Just an all around awesome cast and really smart writing.

  5. Did anyone notice in tonight's Boardwalk Empire episode they where playing Texas hold'em? I really like the show, but techincally from what i've read, that would be inaccurate. Not sure what poker game, probably 5-card stud or something what have be more suitable. I don't think they played hold'em on the east coast at that time. I could be wrong, though. If the show is trying to accurately portray life in that era, they should be more careful with the details.
  6. I love bored to death, it was a pleasant surprise

I thought that exact same thing. Especially since they seem to be doing a good job keeping the anachronisms under control.

Yeah it seems like they are forcing you to notice a bunch of aspects from the era (like the whole "mother fucker" comment, the showman, etc) and then to let a thing like that go seems pretty careless.

Same, I saw some advertisements around a month ago and loved the casting. Didn't even realize it was in season 2 until they aired a marathon a few days before this season started. Already watched the whole season+the 2 new episodes. Great show, todays episode was amazing.

I don't think it was hold'em. I recall only seeing 4 up cards and they were very close to rothstein, not really a central board. The opponent could easily have had his own up cards too, they just didnt show em, I kinda just assumed it was 7-stud.

Either way, I agree this line-up is great. Ive had a crush on HBO programming for a while. A group of friends and I meet every sunday now, have din, and watch the shows. Of course, I mostly go cause Im into one of the girls.
  11. wasnt texas holden. they were playing 7 card stud. both men had 4 up cards in front of thier chips
  12. kenny muther fucking powers imo
  13. boardwalk was real good? 17. Definitely wasn't hold em, IRL Rothstein was killed over an unpaid poker debt.

    except that wasn't the line.

    "I think it's a schvatza word"

which is the yiddish n-word, noob
  19. Boardwalk Empire was decent, but imo Bored to Death and Eastbound & Down have both been better than Boardwalk Empire so far this season.

I def enjoy Boardwalk Empire, don't get me wrong, it's extremely well made, and very fun to watch them create such a visually/everythingly-accurate prohibition era world for us 2010 people to get to experience, which is fucking awesome, but, I get all giddy inside when Bored to Death and Eastbound & Down come on, those shows are pure joy/laughter/entertainment to watch. Very funny, and very good shows.

I pity the fool who doesn't watch Bored to Death. One of the most underrated shows in television history (second in underratedness only to the all-time king of underratedness that is Summer Heights High obv, god DAMN I wish they would make more Summer Heights High episodes. That show was the sickest thing ever, and nobody even watched it/heard of it. Fuck I loved that show.)
  20. Completely agree bfactor (outside of summer heights, not knocking it, just never watched it). I do think Boardwalk has the most potential though, especially with the last episode. So far they havent lived up to it, but its getting better. Bored To Death is pure gold tho.

    lol... see what I mean...
  22. epic, epic Eastbound and Down. Boardwalk Empire was solid again, but it's still not doing it for me.

Bored to Death is great bfactor, but the most underrated TV show in history is Freaks and Geeks!

  24. well it wasn't the best line as you said it.

nucky would have looked at him and said "really, something with fucker in it is a swear word?"
  25. agree. Solid correction choco I get it more now
  26. I believe they were playing 5 card stud. It looked like they each had 1 down card and 4 up cards.
  27. I about died from laughter in the scene where Kenny and his sidekicks were trying to sell pictures with the zebra painted donkey.

"Look how tight there shit is, their presentation fucking blows ours away. Were standing here with a god damn sign on a tecata box, We got Mice and Men here with a fucking desposable camera. We got the stupidest Donkey in all of Mexico.."
