  1. I gotta get my tonsils taken out, my uvula reduced and a deviated septum fixed. Doctor says my sleep apnea (stop breathing when i sleep on my back) is caused by my huge tonsils (60 percent), deviated septum (20 percent) and general fatassedness (20 percent).

Just curious who here has had this done as an adult? How bad was it? I guess the surgery is worse for adults. They told me i should take a week off work. Maybe I can go to a holistic healer instead. Probably a lot cheaper, at least that's what my crazy hipster doofus neighbor told me. Odds of dying in surgery for the tonsils are 15k to 1.

Cue the "one time leeeeeee" jokes. Good news is with the tonsils taken out I can probably get the dildo further in.
  2. now THAT'S a preemptive strike!

He said even if I lose weight I still have really big tonsils which is why I sometimes have trouble swallowing (food!!!!!) and get frequent sore throats (non dildo related).

    this.

lose weight first and see if you get better. if not, then talk about proceeding w/ surgery.

  13. ever used a cpap?
  14. I'm actually having tonsillectomy tomorrow morning...my tonsils are huge for like 2 years now, frequent streptocockus, just a pain in the ass. I will let you know how bad it is. I am 24, above average shape(runner), fairly healthy diet. Not too worried. This girl in one of my classes had hers out recently too, she is only 22 and a lot worse shape than myself; she healed just fine. Mom's about to pick me up right now for dinner and ice cream shopping, then I can't eat/drink after midnight--surgery at 9:30 am. I will update when I come to either tomorrow or the next day.

Best of luck man. I hope everything goes well. Hopefully the pain meds they give work well.

  16. This shit is the worst. Had it done on Monday and still feel awful. Hurts so much to even swallow water. Haven't been able to eat much. Some mashed potatoes, mac andcheese, Italian ice and Gatorade/water. Nothing but vicous diarrhea for the last few days.

I've lost 16 pounds since monday. Left side of my nose is so swollen. Been taking steroids sprays up my nose. Didn't sleep more thanan hour each of the first four nights. Pretty much feel like death. Stopped taking the hydrocodone (liquid Vicodin) after some heart palpitations and not being able to sleep. At least I've slept six or seven hours the last two night.

What I wouldn't give to be able to shove a dildo inmy mouth without pain right now

How'd you recover chngs. Is taking a lot longer than i thought

  19. Never been married.
  20. You need to get yourself a wife who's a nurse and can keep you medicated to the eyeballs so you can't remember the first week.

If you can't swallow easily then they should still have an IV in your arm to keep you hydrated.

Maybe you could blow smokerock to get some protein.

Anyone else think this is a convenient excuse ?
  21. did you not try CPAP first?

If the major reason for his apnea was his tonsil then CPAP will do fuck all.
  23. Nah. I have a very hard time falling asleep. Can't really take naps, sleep in the car, sleep watching tv, etc. so putting a mask on for the rest of my life was a non starter. Not to mention when my tonsils flare up , they swell up and I have a difficult time eating unless I really chew something up. Had my regular doctor and the ENT doctor tell me I had the biggest tonsils they ever seen. Just hoping this pain goes away already. Almost seven full days and I'd bet I didn't have more 3000 calories during that time.

  24. Good luck with your quadruple bypas-wait, mf tonsills? Pfff

Lol jk. Ps pretty sure my tonsills are bigger than yours (were). Pwnd!
  25. Dude wtf I prefer a tight fit ffs

  26. Well you better get over here in the next 24-48 hours. With all the swelling my mouth is like a virgins pussy right now.

Really didn't imagine there would be this much pain this long. Pains no where near as severe as when I passed the kidney stone but it's lasting so many more hours

  27. I think I literally have the exact same problem, except im 23. I have enormous tonsils (get tonsilitis multiple times a year), and have broken my nose 3 times and have a deviated septum. I have sleep apnea to the point where I wake up from a nap or something and I am suffocating while being awake, like I can't make my airways open for a full like 3-4 seconds.

Should I just go straight to a good ENT and ask them? or like a sleep specialist first. I heard being diagnosed with sleep apnea can affect your insurance or something.

EDIT: the waking-up-suffocating part has only started the past like 4-6 months. and I'm 5'11 180 and in great shape.

  28. Guess there's two routes you can go. It kinda depends how bad your tonsillitis is bothering you. Getting them removed makes sense if you're really suffering from that. Getting the deviated septum fixed is pretty easy. It's a little uncomforTable afterwards and they stuff these huge splints in your nose, but they don't really bother you. I'd get them done at the same time so you don't have to do general anesthesia again.

I went to a sleep study first, she found I had severe sleep apnea when I sleep on my back and referred me to an ENT. Your case sounds like ENT first.

And I'm not sure if what you described is sleep apnea. It sounds like night terrors (panic attacks). I had those and they were the worst. You'd be afraid to go to bed and it just kind of fed on itself. Sleep apnea is more about where you are always tired the next day, because your sleep is being disturbed. Hope this helps

  29. Had both of these done when I was like 16 for sleep apnea and not gonna lie, it was horrible. It's pretty much impossible to eat anything and the pain is pretty bad.

Yeah, I was skinny (still am) when I got those procedures/was diagnosed with apnea and I still snore like crazy when I sleep on my back. Oh, and ended up having to get a CPAP machine for my apnea anyway...... So don't bank on the surgery fixing it 100%. They also make some sort of special pillows that help keep you on your side and those worked ok fwiw
