  1. So he's talking on the halftime show about Brett Favre. He says he likes Favre over Manning for MVP because he's brought the Vikings back from "further away" and "These guys weren't a 10 or 11 win team last year.".....they were 10-6 and made the playoffs...I know Favre is tearing it up but come on
  2. Why would you let something non-human tilt you this way?
  3. The colts have been a 10 win team every year for the past decade. Favre took a team that was good, and made them great. Hes taken them from 10-6 to 10-1, making the jump from good to elite. The Colts were already an Elite team. I think thats what he was going for.

  4. Favre will get mvp if they end up 14-2 or better no doubt. plus the Titans are going to beat the Colts next week. you heard it here first!
  5. How about indy's coach for coach of the year... 11-0 in his 1st season and a new O coordinator w/ a bunch of injuries... gets my vote.

nah...someone said it on here about a week or five ago

  7. I agree Peyton Manning should win coach of the year.
  8. MVP is clearly Favre. I would also put Brees ahead of Manning too

  9. Favre will win because he has the same amount of TD's and 8 less interceptions

  10. If the Titans go end up making the playoffs and Chris Johnson goes over 2000 yards, CJ should win the MVP.

ok lets compromise. Manning for Coach of the year and Favre MVP. fair?
  12. sure the colts have been a 10 win team every year....since peyton manning got there. i see what he was trying to say but he missed and considering his job is to say things properly it's just a little tilting. i'm not even trying to weigh in on the MVP talks as I think we're a few weeks away from being able to tell which way that's going to go

  13. If the Colts go 16-0 or 15-1, there is no way anyone wins the MVP other then Peyton Manning...

    The way I see it:

    Indy 1st in pass offense
    Minnesota 8th in pass offense

Indy 32nd (or last) in rushing yards per game
Minnesota 10th (or 10th) in rushing yards per game

Indy 3rd in total offense (with the LAST place run offense)
    Minnesota 5th in total offense

    Indy 17th in total defense
    Minnesota 12th in total defense

    Indy 11-0
    Minny 10-1

A guy with on the worst rushing team in the league has them 3rd in offense and 11-0 on the year, with 6 defensive starters out, rookie corners, #2 receiver out, 2 rookie WR's...

    Easy choice right now.

Yes, the easy choice is Favre.

New as in he's been there for 11 yrs?

    google Tom Moore.

manning is doing more with less
  17. Lol are you kidding me? Manning has Wayne and Clark. Favre had a rookie in Harvin, Sidney Rice (who was shit before this year), Bernard Berrian and Shancoe. Yea he also has AP but the passing game is about Favre elevating his players around him. Also, Addai was a very good rusher just two years ago.

his job is to provide insight and analysis into a very complex and popular game. what tilts me is people who over-react to a mistatement or mistake from someone who has to talk a lot Everyone does it but for some reason every now and then it is blown way out of proportion
  19. Does anyone want to bet me $100 that Favre doesn't win the MVP? (You take Manning, if neither win it's a push).

  20. I remember seeing two of Favre's interceptions and they were balls that should have been caught and were intercepted off of the miss. He realistically could be sitting there with one interception to go with all those tds

Incredible year for number 4 so far

LMAO??? Peyton hasn't elevated his two rookie WR's????

Percy Harvin was a very good player in college football? What does that have to do with anything, they still have the LAST PLACE RUSH OFFENSE in the league and are 11-0.

They have Wayne, Clark and then who??? Look what Manning has turned two nobodies into, that is why he is the MVP, no one else (except maybe #12) can do that...

The points you are making are points FOR Manning, 11-0 with 2 rookie WR's and a RB who USED to be good??

It's not like Manning is throwing 30 times a game to 2 guys...look at some stats and who is getting catches, TDs, etc....14 TDs to Wayne/Clark 10TDs to the rest...

79 and 74 Receptions for the duo...that accounts for 51.3% of Manning's completions, again the other 50% are going to a much worse cast then Favre has.

As a total package (RB, TE, WR's) Favre has a much better package to work with then Manning does...

I think that technically there's a new O-Coord. Moore retired and was rehired as a consultant or something so he can get his pension. But in reality he's still in charge of the O.
  23. Peyton Manning should win MVP every single year, including this year.

Remove Brett Favre from the Vikings and they are a playoff team. Remove Peyton manning from the Colts and I don't think anyone could argue they would win 8 games. I'd probably predict 4 wins, if that.

Brett Favre's supporting offensive cast is 10x better than Peyton's, but that's not all that important.

How come everyone says "but Manning has Wayne, Clark, etc" and nobody ever says "but Wayne, Clark have Manning".

You don't think Sidney Rice's emergence has anything to do with the fact that Brett Favre is throwing to him and not Tavaris Jackson??? You don't think every single receiver the Colts have on their roster emerges as a star because they have Peyton throwing to them?

Lol @ how good the Colts would be with AP.... my... god...

Oh and yes, Tony Dungy, while one of the nicest guys in football, is a complete moron. He is penalizing Peyton because he has been on the Colts longer? Sorry he is the sole reason they are an elite team and it has been that way for 10 years. Sorry they are an elite team, remain an elite team, and will always be an elite team while Peyton is their quarterback. Sorry he leads the Colts to the top and can't go any higher.

Peyton Manning is the greatest football player of all time.
  24. mvp is such a stupid award in every sport...i remember when karl malone won it one year over michael jordan when jordan put up his usual numbers and his team eventually won the championship again that year...jordan should have won 8-10 mvps, off the top of my head i think he won 5....

peyton is getting to that point where he is by far the best player in the game and obv the most valuable player to his team...as someone said earlier, hes basically the coach of his team, and they are undefeated...ya farve has better numbers and so do some other guys like brees and some sick running backs and shit, but no one is more important to their team then peyton is...if mvp was given to the best player and the player most valuable to his team, then peyton would have 4 or 5 of them by now and would win it this year...imo...

but ya who gives a shit its a stupid award...biggest example of mvp being a joke is the fact that steve nash can say he is a 2 time nba mvp...bwahahahaha...opposing point guards get a boner when they play penix because they know they are facing a terrible defensive player...im fuckin tilted just thinking about it...end rant
  25. Just a random point as an Indy fan;

Can anyone who watches Indy games week in week out remember their last kickoff return for a TD?

Can anyone remember a good return for Indy? Chad Simpson's long kickoff return on the year is 39 yards, which isn't even into opponents territory (or possibly JUST into depending where he received the ball obviously).

    Kickoff Returns over 50 yards since 2005: 1, TD's: 0

That means only 1 time guaranteed has Indy started a drive after kickoff in their opponents end. There are a couple returns of 47 yards, but those could or couldn't be in opponents territory, obviously I don't remember...

Nothing to do with MVP or anything, just an observation I make each week watching the Colts start every drive from the 20...
  26. I don't think anyone means to diminish Peyton's play this year by saying Favre is the MVP to this point Peyton is incredible and the Colts would be lost wo him, but Favre has won it 3 times w seasons that aren't as good as this one and is 10-1 to this point Throwing in Brees (pun intended obv) there is no bad choice for this award

For the record though, Peyton won last year and he is less then 600 yards away from his passing total from 2008 and 3 TDs away from his total of 27 last year...he is also going to pass 2003's numbers this season as well. And he is 11-0...

So the same argument can be made for Peyton and his previous MVP's.

I was going to make a post, but it is pretty much covered by this. Only addition would be, Sharp is talking about Dallas Clark like he would be an elite weapon for any QB and that is just ridiculous. If he played for a bad team no one would know who he was. If he played for an average team, he MIGHT be a decent TE. The only top player that Manning ever has had is Wayne. YADA YADa YADA about Marvin Harrison, but he was an ok #2 receiver who happened to play w/ Manning so he put up superstar #'s.

LOL @ calling Marvin Harrison "an OK #2 receiver". Manning is great and will likely end up as the greatest QB of all time, but his nuts are so far up some people here, it's affecting their brain functions.
