some great inspiring, and sad pics
-
#20 actually made me shed a few tears as well...that is 1 of the most depressing things ive seen in a while
-
i hate that almost all of these pictures are depressing ones (aside from osama bin laden and amy winehouse both dying and #45), 2011 sucked I guess

19 gave me joy and 20 gave me sadness
-
is december not part of 2011?
-
I look forward to this every year. At least one pic every year makes me cry. Thanks for the link!

19 and 20 made me get choked up. I cried hysterically the first time I saw pic 20. Possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen. Pic 25 is completely WTF. It looks like a scene from The Notebook or something. Pic 30 is super sad and pic 35 is horrible, some people are completely fucking nuts. 45 is awesome.

I think I'm really desensitized to natural disasters for some reason. The pics of the Tsunami earthquakes, and tornadoes are sad but don't bother me as much as some of the other stuff. Oh, and people actually left fucking cigarettes at Amy Winehouse's memorial thingy? That's just ridiculous. Did they leave a bag of dope and a rig too? -
Why werent there many happy pics? I agree, this should of been called the most depressing images like someone said. I did fknlol at the military gay parade and most of them were wearing Navy shirts!!!! sorry wanta!!! my dad would of loved that one!
-
half of them are of police brutality
-
fuck Harold Camping

I just came here to post "why the hell is #12 on there?" I mean I understand that there is a powerful story behind the picture but there is nothing moving about the picture by itself and the composition just looks crappy to me. Looks like it was taken by a cell phone camera and the picture seems like a bad picture with no back story.

I am not saying there is not an amazing story behind the picture but wihtout the story this picture does nothing for me and I am confused about how it made the list. I try to keep up on what is going on in the world, wtf was this all about?
I am ignorant as fuck about why this picture is on the list. Please, educate me because all I see is a picture I would prob delete from my phone as a bad pic if I had taken it.
The dog laying in front of the casket is simply amazing and that story is heartbreaking. Trying not to cry like a girl while looking at that picture in class right now. -
Honestly thought #39 was Rafael Nadal
-
Lol u pussies going all nuts over the fucking dog pick are the worst. What about the mans family and friends? It's a fuckin dog lol

Edited By: wonglondo Dec 6th, 2011 at 07:48 PMThat picture was taken in tahrir square during the protest against mubarak. It was a pretty violent scene between the anti-mubarak vs the police and pro-mubaraks. Muslims gotta pray 5 times a day, so the christians formed a human barricade to protect them during prayer times. Also, this took place a month after the church bombing in alexandria.Originally Posted by PoWdA

Yeah, there are better pictures of this incident out there, not sure why they chose this particular one. I guess it depends on what you relate to best though, and I've lived for a while in cairo. A japanese would probably be more likely to choose one of the tsunami / fukushima photos as the most moving one.
