  1. kinda had a debate with a friend earlier.

    I went with:

    1. Yankees
    2. Red Sox
    3. Celtics
    4. Cowboys
    5. Lakers

Was I close or nah? My friend said by far cowboys are the clear number 1 franchise in teh you es of a.
  2. lol @ cowboys #1

    its clearly the yanks
  3. sick level by your friend

yanks celts lakers red sox maybe a football team ?
  4. any list without the steelers on it is a fucking joke

thats not just my homerism, theyre indisputably on any top five list
  5. red sox have only been back for about 15 years. they sucked from like forever until now. ESPN actually has a lot to do with their resurgence. Not that ESPN are homers, it's a New England company.

don't get me wrong. the sox have always had their fans. they just sucked and aren't much of shit compared to the Yankees, Celtics, Red Wings, Lakers, Packers, Cowboys.
  6. Cowboys are most valuable franchise tho
    2
  7. I think the scale for evaluating this would be to say, What sport would never be the same if the team didn't exist or they got rid of them. When you say prestige you need to evaluate not only revenues and titles, but also fan base, and importance to the sports world.
  8. Are we equating prestigious and value as one the same here?
  9. Atlanta Braves?
  10. Yankees prob number 1
    Celtics 2
    Lakers Cowboys 3 and 3a
    Dodgers 4
    green bay packers 5
  11. Most valuable - Cowboys.

Prestige, Yanks one obv. Prolly Celts 2. Then Steelers, Cowboys and Lakers close 3-5, not listed in any particular order.

  12. by prestige i meant history, fanbase, popularity. this was the reason why i didn't add the steelers to my list as dallas is by far more popular than the steelers.

  13. can we all agree 1.yanks 2.celts 3. lakers ?
  14. I was wrong. The Cowboys are the highest value.

    yankees #2

YES network is a cash hog. plus all the shit ton of merch

post turner and post tbs act as a vicious one two combo that has taken the wind out of the chop hate to think what losing bobby after next year will do
  16. Current #1 value in NFL today is Cowboys. The Redskins were the first NFL franchise to break the 1B club in 2004, at least Dan Snyder can do one fucking thing right <sigh>.

I would guess some European Soccer teams are in the 1B+ club as well, although I seriously do not follow the sport and could not name even one of them.

actually cowboys are after new stadium. yankees fucking up their pricing blocked them from moving up too.

  18. How are the Red Sox #2 on that list let alone even on the list?
  19. i think the packers might need to be in the top 5
  20. obv

    Cubs
    bears
    bulls
    hawks
    the fire
    sox
    chicago wolves
our wnba team dunno their name
    umm U of I

    im forgeting some obv.

Go ahead and call me a homer but this is my unbiased list of teams, it does not matter that i live in chicago if i lived in Europe this would be the list
  21. Hard to argue with

    Yanks
    Celtics
    Lakers
    Red Sox
    Cowboys

Edit: Just saw Jimbo's list and he wins.
  22. Red Wings deserve an HM

  30. i've lived in three different states in three different areas of the country, every one of them had a solid steeler fan base, and i've heard its the same everywhere else
