Ball wasn't thrown well, if Brady had put it where it needed to be he would have caught it. Eli put it right on Manningham for the pivotal catch - and that made the difference. Eli just had that extra bit of talent that won them the game.

It's hard to score in the playoffs, much less the super bowl. Scoring 17 and 21 is nothing to be ashamed of, it was more than the Pats could manage and that's all that matters. Giants had one of the worst rushing attacks in the league last year, but Eli still carried them to victory in the biggest game of the season. -
i guess Eli is the better qb lol. btw pats with healthy gronk win by 10. and the giants rushing attack was a two headed monster by the end of the season and it continued in the post season.

and everybody knows both those games could have gone any direction. it wasnt like the giants outplayed the pats by a good margin. i'm sure the giants will be relevant in another 4 years like they always do. -

jay cutler is solid but top 5? hmm well he just got a weapon so lets see what happens maybe he gets busy this year
i recall brady hitting welker with a clutch throw ,it hit welker's 2 hands...........gg Eli thoughOriginally Posted by Nickc011

If anything, Brady is prone to drop significantly on these lists. He missed several key throws in the super bowl that cost his team the game. If he played as well as Eli, the Pats win. He didn't, and they lost... again.

i thought the celebration was a lil diff. wow at this video he clearly is keyed and its not like its jus some poppn party from what i see
just dudes wtf this is gay my opinion changes on a hearing about the after party, cockfesting after the superbowl loss
daMN ,i'm taking jimmy graham in 2nd round next year -
Both QB's played equal and GREAT games btw, both defenses were pretty good esp at that point in the season. It makes no sense to say the Eli benefited from a good Giants d but then turn around and say the Patriots d was horrible. Both defenses were rated all time bad in a number of categories throughout the regular season, but both were playing much much better than what they showed most of the reg season. Giants defense finally started to get healthy, and NE's young defense was significantly coached up by the time the superbowl was played from Belichek.

The only difference is that Eli is in his PRIME right now and sorry to say but Brady is just past his prime at his age. The game changed on two throws, Brady in his heyday would have made that Welker throw in his sleep and of course Eli just does what he does, which is one of the greatest clutch QB's ever. -
Tom brady out his prime lol. You can easiily make the argument that he was MVP of the league last year. And the year before he was the unanimous MVP. He stilll has a good 2-3 year window in his prime.

Nick Foles believe it or not

I dunno, brady is getting old. He only threw 8 more TD than Eli's career high last year
-
well this entire thread is obviously a level because eli is currently the world champion and had yet another remarkable comeback in the 4th quarter easily cementing his place as the most clutch qb of all time. He is not below any1 right now, hes surpassed brady already and due to him being able to win the big game when it matters...brees and rodgers are on par with him, then brady, then who cares?
-
gtfo with that shit. All you Giants fans were screaming to get rid of Eli in 10-11 season. I don't like hating against Eli as he is a very clutch QB but to consider him an all time great already is a joke. This was his first year of putting up great numbers. and Tom Brady 3-Eli Manning 2

look up Eli's career stats vs the greats. Tom Brady will end his career already being a top 3 qb of all time. -
well i for one have always stayed true to the greatness that is of eli manning. That being said i clearly said greatest CLUTCH qb of all time. He holds the all time record for most 4th quarter TD's in a single season already, as well as his numerous last drive comebacks he is simply the qb that takes the game into his own hands and says its time for him to win the game. We are talking about the present....not career numbers, if we are talking career numbers why is peyton manning not up here? oh wait because we are talking about right now

lol... no. Never once wanted to get rid of eli. Patriot fans are the most butthurt ever lol. giants fans who wanted to dump eli after 2010 weren't watching the games. Despite throwing 25 picks, eli had one of his best offensive seasons with 31 td's and 4k passing yards. A lot of those ints were bad luck/ deflections off the hands of his receivers. The reason eli throws more picks than brady and rodgers is because he takes more risks throwing down field and going for the big play. He's not a quarterback who just dumps it off to his backs/ tight ends or throws a lot of out routes. He makes a few throws each game that leave u in awe as a fan, and last season a lot less of those eli hero plays that got him in trouble past years.

he wasn't even considered a top ten quarterback in the league going into last year. He had a great year no doubt. But all of a sudden you guys catapult him to being on the level of Brady,Brees, and Rodgers. Lets see if he continues performing at a high level year in and year out.
And amartin there was huge backlash to Eli manning before last year. They hadn't made the playoffs since winning the super bowl and he was coming off a career worst year with 25 picks. -
my rankings:

wrong. they made the playoffsl the next season and may have won it all again if dumb ass plaxico hadn't shot himself in the leg. They started the year 13-1. They had 2 years in a row missing playoffs, one 8-8 year and a 10-6 season that easily could have been 11-5 if they hadn't blown a 3 td lead vs the eagles. Believe me i'm aware there was backlash, but there was never any consideration of ditching eli. Most of the blame in new york usually goes to gilbride and coughlin in the media/fans opinion. Eli was a top 10 qb for sure but people were too stupid to realize it. Rivers and Romo were ranked higher than him, sure, but anyone who had matt ryan or some other randoms ahead of him was just being foolish. in 07 i agree with u he was not a top 10 qb, but since then he has been. He was young as hell in 07. -
brees > eli but eli > brady
-
There was not huge backlash to Eli before last year. The backlash was before he won the first superbowl. The year after that they went 12-4, the year after that he had his career high in qb rating and the next year they went 10-6 and this year they won the superbowl. The backlash post 2007 for the giants was the defense and Coughlin. I dont remember hearing a single person say they think the Giants should change quarterbacks. Did people say he should limit the turnovers? Sure. But I would hardly call that backlash to Eli.
-
At the time Romo & Rivers merited being ranked ahead of Eli. I would put both behind him now. You are right that having Ryan at that level was always a bit ridiculous.

greatest clutch qb of all time has still gotta be joe montana
Edited By: double_kyan Mar 16th, 2012 at 07:01 PM
for the youngsters that never seen him play this fool was always winning the game at the end
roeslithberger did clutch plays just like eli in the superbowl
amazing welker drops history on one play
than again brady's 1st ring came from the tuck rule[game was over] and than they win the super bowl that year ,nfl waits extra year to change the rule avoiding tainting the championship
elway was a beast
hopefully peyton manning can still give us some good football
guess steeler fans dont read this forum, havn't heard big bens name nor bradshaw :P -

Lol @ backlash or thinking of getting rid of Eli. 30 teams right now would drop their QB's straight in the grease if they had a chance to get him.
