  1. this weekend kurt douglas made me want to go crawl around in the woods commando stlye and go nuts in the jungle, so here's my list:

    3. Saving Private Ryan
    4. Thin Red Line
    5. The one with Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger who's title I can't remember. lil help please

  6. yeah i really liked gettysburg. Of course the entertainment value wasn't there for obvious reasons, but very informative. We had to watch it in history class in middle school

  8. Yea, Platoon is great, mandatory in the list. Hamburger Hill was pretty good, not as well known.

    I am interested in the Civil War and U.S. history in general, so I really liked the movie. Of course Ken Burns' documentaries on the Civil War are the nuts, but Gettysburg was very well done.

    Red Dawn has to be in the mix. Possibly not enough war though.

    they could easily make hamburger hill into the bloodiest movie of all time, with a remake.

  16. Would you classify Schindler's List as a war movie??? If so it is def in the top 5 imo
  17. Has anyone seen Flags of our Fathers (Clint Eastwood's movie)? I bought the DVD the other day because I know it got some good reviews, but I have never seen it.

    I bought it too w/o knowing much about it. It is pretty good.

    Ofcourse band of brothers is better than all, but it isnt a movie, its a miniseries.
    Honorable mention goes out to Braveheart, Platoon, Glory is my fav civilwar movie.

    Some really good ones that havent been mentioned yet- A Bridge Too Far, Black Hawk Down, Patton, and the Kelly's Heroes.
