    edit:hopefully not a repost

    re-edit: found some more info

Christian left the Kora Reserve in 1973. He made his new territory along the Tana river, but when the Wakamba herdsmen kept bringing their livestock to his hunting ground, he moved on. George Adamson said in his autobiography, "I used to count the days on which we hadn't seen Christian, but when they reached 97, I gave up recording them in my diary." Because a lion can live from 12 to 15 years in the wild, Adamson believed that Christian ended his days in the Meru National Reserve only a few miles up river.

Me too. I was actually thinking I might be able to post this in the Most Disturbing Thing You've Witnessed thread. Oh well.
  9. Thats a really good video!
  10. What odds would you need to place a bet on maim or kill?
  11. I have seen this video sveral times. While I do think it is touching and cute I always question the back story. I doubt that he was released into the wild. I am more inclined to believe he was given to a wildlife refuge of some sort. My reasoning is: The random, shirtless guy that is able to walk right up to them. The lion obv knows that guy too. My other reason is that no wild lioness is gonna just walk up and let a human pet her. imo
  12. I thought that too. But it's all a work, see. As soon as they go over the hill, the rest of the pride is waiting, and lunch is served.
    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. *burp*
  13. no one ever knows the back story, and with all the respect for my brother E, who knows animals in a capacity that few of us might ever hope too...it is no different than knowing why we are all here.

nature has no clue as to why, it just flows.
boundaries stop us, and still they don't.
words move us, but we stand still.
pictures inspire, but are clouded by marketing.

we get a glimpse of someone, for a period of time, and we think we know them.
    but do we?
    do you?

we have millions of moments in our lives, made of milli-fractions of the seconds that tick by, and still we say to our loved ones, there was nothing special in the day.

fuck, the DAY was special, and EVERYTHING in it.
stink, rank, real, smiles, anger, hate...still special.

how many times does one have to be reminded of this before they see it?

watch the road ahead come to a narrow halt, and ask...was it worth it?

for me, in here, and what it means, it may not seem like a lot, and this may seem burried, but yeah, it is.

because there is love out there, for the sake of love, and not some exchange rate.
for the sake of being, and giving it.

    then again.
why would it matter, unless you have to make a difference.

in some cases those are anonymous, and in others, they are not.
    but they still are.

no boundaries, no hate, no questioning.
    just support.
for those that live in the same realm.

    for others, perhaps just teeth.
    and claws.
to some, that is calvin, and he is waiting for hobbes.

OT will always be a special place to me, rigged or not, new or old...because I log on, and make it so.

  14. real deep shit fetaman...

  15. That was amazing..sfsick. I still cant believe that actually happened. Tks for posting this. =)
  16. goosebumps
  17. very very cool.
  18. don't believe ''the wild'' part...deff a game reserve for orphan lions...noway a teenage lion has a 1 woman pride in the wild...he needs 200 more pounds of muscle and a full beard(mane) to get the babes.

but still a good post and not gay unless you sucked a kok afterward IMO
  19. thanks OP, my gf is now balling
  20. I remember they did this with monkeys and it was about 15 years since this trainers last saw these 3 and right when she came to see them, they knew who she was. amazing!

  23. repost. not the first one too.

that said, still a good vid

edit: some of the text in the vid was exaggerated. that shirtless wild-looking man had been takin care of the lion, so it wasn't completely 'wild' or anythin. that guy (george somethin) later got killed by a real, wild lion.
  24. And IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII will always love yoooooooooooouuuuuuu

    good shit yo
  25. King Midas touched me inappropriately.. I no longer trust the Midas touch.

My priest always told me that if I'm wearing gloves it's not gay.
  27. what a nice video
  28. The weird thing is that we all know this video is old. It has been on here and youtube for quite some time. However, last night our local FOX news station ran a story on that video on the 10pm news.

On a related note; I used to own a monkey years ago. I donated him to a small zoo just south of Myrtle Beach. I hadn't been there or seen him for like 3 years and he immediately recognized me when I showed up.
  29. This is pretty awesome. Here's the story with more details.
