  1. Without paying money? Is it possible? What are my options?

Pretty sure I got punked and I really wanna get to the bottom of this..

I'm fairly certain I got setup by someone I know and I want to find out who it is without paying $50 for an online service..

    Details-
Got 1 call from number and missed it no voicemail
    Texted back and forth
Called number but no answer or answering machine.. had a voicemail box
    Got setup
Have full number including area code
Can't give out much more info than that.

The # is not in that directory..

If I can determine the owner of the number without paying money and I indeed got punked I will absolutely post number..

Ya I tried all the sites I knew about, and the number isn't "published" so of course they refer me to a pay site that claims they know the owner.. With fees from $20-$50 that I have seen.

  10. I had some shit head text me a while ago and tell me to fuck off or something like that. I found one of those services that was about $5 and gave them the number, but they said they couldn't trace it or some shit. I can probably find it again if you're interested, but it didn't work for me.

it was really weird. they texted both me and 2 of my friends and said the exact same shit, so we assumed it was somebody all of us knew, but none of our mutual friends had the number. 3 or 4 texts back and forth each. we ignored it but then about a week later the number pocket dialed me so I sat there and listened to him have a conversation irl for a little over 20 minutes. he was a rep working at the verizon store and I heard him start-to-finish sell someone an iphone. it was really really weird so that's when I tried the $5 service. I still wanna know who tf that was.
  11. obv go to your local vz stores and call that number from a blocked number, see whos pocket rings... good times
  12. lol exactly. I had it all planned out where I'd get his name and then figure out which verizon store he worked at, and then call the store 4-5 times a day ask to talk to him.

the best part was 2 of us were talking to each other while we were also texting him, so we made our responses exactly the same to mess with him. it ended with us both telling him we'd kill and eat his children. no text back after that.
  13. I was getting harrasing phone calls for a few nights at like 3am while I was trying to sleep. I turned my phone off til the next morning and they left me a few voicemails. I looked up the number found the address and went to the house at about 6:30 at night.

ring the doorbell not knowing who lived there and some azn lady holding a baby came to the door but wouldnt answer it. Im trying to talk to her through the door when her husband pulls up in the driveway. I tell him whats happening and ask if he has any kids my age. he tells me no and asks if Im sure I have the right number. I play the message back for him and he hears his phone number before the message starts. He was pretty baffled and so was I. never found out how they pulled that off but not only did they cost me sleep they got me to scare some poor azn lady

  14. Holy shit, thats lolz
  15. ^^something it could have been, and same in my situation or the OP's, blackberry has a Caller ID Faker that works perfectly. I only played around with it a little bit but you could definitely screw with people if you wanted to.
  16. standard stalker
  17. I once let a girl comma friend of mine (brag!) use my phone to leave nasty vm's on her ex's phone b/c mine was blocked. then when he called I found out mine's wasn't blocked. I knew the guy too (he knew me but not by phone/number) but I played it off like I knew nothing. pretty sure he knew it was her but also pretty sure I got away with it. nothing like stammering about how I was at a party and don't know who used my phone and hoping that nonsense worked.
  18. you have seven days to live...bb

Does the caller ID blocker, or those services that allow you to call (prank call) and change the visible number work with texting?

I have some new info, while I can't find a free way to track the name... the services I used show that this number is a land line, how was it texting me? Did the service fail or is this a more elaborate plot than I initially imagined?

  23. They can easily set up a google voice # and call/text u from that and youd never find out who it is...

I recommend handing this case over to the folks at 4chan.org
  24. spoofcard.com

Let it go. Unless you are going to file with the police you are just wasting your time
