I thought the whole "Nazi werewolf" thing was a bit of a stretch...until I saw Nazi vampires. Seriously? I guess the good thing is that I definitely never saw it coming. It seems odd to me that they were military prior to vampires revealing themselves to humans when True Blood (the drink) was invented. Wouldn't they have to reveal themselves at some point during WWII? "Uh, sorry, I can't really do any missions during the daytime. I'll catch on fire." I look forward to seeing how they address it.

I couldn't open the true blood threads of this season till now, cuz I DVR'd the first two episodes of the season and didn't watch them till just now.

Anyways, strangely, I feel the exact opposite way about the show, sacaniga. I couldn't stand season 1, just totally hated it. Then season 2, I liked it quite a bit, until the maryann chaos shit got all over the top and ridiculous, and then I hated it again. Then season 3, I'm back to liking it again.

When it gets too crazy with people over acting in situations where a lot of chaos/ridiculous shit is going down, that's when I don't enjoy it cuz it gets way too cheesy and low-quality-acting style too much and seems like the type of show you'd expect to see on some basic-cable channel. It's only when it's a little more restrained and split into individual, separate storyline, and not all balls to the wall absurd, that I enjoy it.

Like, for example:

In season 2, when all the townspeople were screaming and acting all retarded in a gigantic mob, and yelling in the jails and all that shit, I didn't enjoy that at all, that's too silly style to me and not good.

The types of scenes I like are stuff like, for example, in this season, when Bill goes in that really old woman's home, and the camera is slowly trailing behind the back of her head as she's walking in her house with him following behind her while she's talking to him, and it's all creepy, and you're not sure whether something fucked up is gonna happen when she turns around, like maybe there's something fucked up about her and she's actually gonna be attacking him, and not the other way around (turns out it wasn't, and he was the one who attacked her, but that's not the point), I like that sort of camera use/scene setup from that scene, scenes like those completely draw me into the show. Also thought the sex scene with Stackhouse and the girls from the bar was pretty hilarious, when they ask him why he's being all weird, and he's like "Everytime I look at your faces, I just see these big bulletholes on your forehead" and they're like "Lulz wtf... let's get outta herez" and run away super fast. LOLLLL. And the scene with the fancy "dinner" at the rich dude's mansion with the chilled, carbonated blood, suffering-free from willing donaters who ate nothing but tangerines for 3 weeks before they were tapped, and the rosepedal infused blood bisque, LOL, c'mon man, as a chef you have to admit that was pretty funny.

I dunno, I def am liking this season a lot so far. I just hope they don't go too over the top/chaotic with it the way they did last season. I like it best when they just keep it solid with the individual storylines that bump into each other occasionally, but not into all out free for all retardedness like it got last season with maryann or anything silly like that tho hopefully.

I don't mind the red haired girl, but I agree on not being happy about the werewolf thing this season. I didn't find the maynad to be my cup of tea at all, and I don't think werewolves are much of an improvement. Imo, they should've gone with some kind of mythical creature type that is more interesting and hardcore than those ones are. Even so, I think this season should be pretty good, probably better than either of the first two seasons, but I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

i think the reason i'm kinda annoyed with the show this season has to do with a girl named ashley, one of my gf's friends never shuts up about twilight, she's team edward, and is very vocal about it... having to put up with that horse shit has kinda made me pre-hate the whole werewolf vs vampire shenanigans, and i couldnt suppress a forehead cringing eye roll when i saw thats where this season was headed

also, that young red haired whiny vampire makes me want to toss babies out of a truck, and she's been pretty active so far

I mean, don't get me wrong tho, in some cases over the top can be great, like, the best example being Quentin Tarantino's stuff, but I just don't think the director or crew of this show are good at pulling it off is all
