so OTers, have you ever tried a 'turducken' during Thanksgiving?? From what I heard, its the dankest shit..
Amazon is actually selling them on their site... for about $130.. so is it worth it??
http://www.amazon.com/Louisiana-Corn.../dp/B000BQRDS0 -
looked really good on the food network
-
holy shit is OP fo realz?
-
Sounds like a great idea until you realize you're about to drop a C-note on a food item that starts with the word "turd"
-
Turkey gets too dry or chicken is undercooked. Turducken, while seeming like a great idea, in fact is not.
Maybe good with a brine and a huge, commercial pressure cooker. -
i'd probably cook it in an oven bag with a lil turkey stock and celery for a few hours, then crisp under the broiler with some butter
-
Go to your local Fresh Market or Whole Foods and order one for pick up; they are absolutely fucking amazing.
-
I even made a repost of a repost of a repost about this several months ago.

Don't speak this blasphemy on these forums. Tell whoever cooked yours to learn how to properly cook it. I had one for Thanksgiving last year and the juices were jst running out of it when cut into.

There's also another version of the turducken, where they stuff sausage/quail into the chicken, chicken into duck, duck into turkey...haven't tried that yet though. -
so aren't there a lot of bones you have to deal with? or are they de-boned somehow?
-
The butcher does it all for you.

DO NOT use turkey. I have made it with turkey and it was a bit dry. The next time I made it I used pheasant. WAY better imo
