    Ive known what the main event was for a while but I didnt know any of the other fights until today. God damn its a really fucking solid card which makes up for the lack of a huge main event even though its a title fight.

    Frankie Edgar vs Grey Maynard
    Chris leben vs Brian Stann
    Clay Guida vs Takanori Gomi
    Brandon Vera vs Thiago Silva
    Nate Diaz vs stun gun kim

    The main event may be the most boring fight on the card on paper. I'll def be watching. Who ya got?

    Also just announced at the pre fight press conference that Chuck Liddell is offically retired and going to be a UFC executive.

    Gray Maynard is probably the most boring fighter in UFC besides Jake Shields or Jon Fitch. He'll probably just lay on Edgar for 5 rounds if the fight goes his way. Edgar's training is phenomenal though so hopefully it won't be as boring a fight as most of us expect it to.

    agree... the LW division will be the most exciting in the UFC for a while, with, pettite, bendo, cerrone, coming in, every LW fight will be a good one in the fture..

    While I agree that taking someone down and sitting in guard with no intentions of passing while pretending to stay busy with weak gnp is lame as hell (gray, jon fitch, chael sonnen, rashad when he's in wrestling mode), I think the stand up version of this is just as bad. Watching someone with excellent speed and footwork dance circles around someone throwing jabs and no power shots knowing they aren't going to be finishing the fight but rather win on points is lame as hell too (frankie, dominick cruz, and GSP in the kos fight as much as I don't want to say his name bc i don't think hes boring). With this title fight we get to see the 2 best point fighters in the business.

    Someone might want to double check this stat but I believe both fighters combined have 2 finishes in their last 18 fights and I think one of them was gray knocking himself out.

    Guida is boring as shit in 3/4ths of his fights so I don't care.

    did you watch guida v diaz, that shit was THE most boring fight i've ever seen. Diego and him was a great fight, but when he gets popped he goes straight for his wrestling.

    Just because he has one boring fight doesn't make him a boring fighter. Most of the time Guida fights are pretty intense. He's always either being super aggressive or taking a shit ton of damage to the face.

    just a fyi at the Illinois state wrestling finals in '09 he was sitting 3 seats down from me and a friend who were there watching. I told him his fight sucked. He actually said "I know, but Nate is really tough" he didn't want to give him a opening so he slowed it down.

    I think you guys are just on the opposite side as me. Just because he has had 2-3 super exciting fights doesn't mean his 15 decisions are exciting. Most are super technical grappling matches.

    I would definately agree when they are top level bjj guys, but when one is a wrestler and the other is bjj they get really boring. Watching Nate in their fight was awesome because he was trying to reverse and not just hold and control.

    Agreed, I just think Clay is a different animal than say a wrestler like Jake Shields. Shields fights are boring but Clay's intensity, whether it's just wrestling or not, is exciting more often than not.

    agreed about guida...in a fanbase where people boo like retards as soon as the fight goes to the ground it always boggled my mind why seemingly everyone loved clay guida. It's gotta be the hair idk cuz he's the definition of a lay and pray fighter with 0 finishing ability.
