    On July 8th they are having two big fights: the Ortiz/Shamrock and the Sylvia/Arlovski fights.

    I'd pick Ortiz in the first one hands down..who knows but I think Ortiz is just the better fighter right now...Shamrock used to be a bad ass and still is but he's just old as shit.

    I'd bet on Ortiz but it's like -600 so if I had to put money down I'd almost rather put it on shamrock at +350 on bodog and +400 on WSX. I think I'll just pass on this one.

    The Sylvia Arlovski fight has more appeal to a betting man I think. I know Sylvia won the last won but they have him at +250 on WSX and +220 on bodog. (Bodog sucks).

    I think the Sylvia line looks pretty good. I didnt see the last fight so I really don't know. I do know they are 1 and 1 now.

    Any thoughts?

    i would put my money on Brandon Vera over Chuck Liddell ( if that fight ever happens ). But i think that Tito Ortiz is gonna beat Shamrock in this 1. I like Sylvia over Arlocski. After the Gracie Hughes fight i might never order another 1 of these again. They were all pretty weak.

    To be honest, I wait until a few days before, and check 2+2 Sports Betting forum.

    There are a couple of posters there who train MMA, and have inside scoop on the fights. The post some great fight analyses, etc.

    I am leaning towards Ortiz, but value is betting Shamrock, since -600 is so rough.

    you apparently just aren't a fan of MMA if you thought that PPV was weak, the main event was a letdown, but pure domination by Hughes isn't weak. Several of the other fights were awesome....and there was a flying knee knockout....what's better than that?

    Sylvia/arlovski is going to be a good rubbermatch. Last fight sylvia caught arlovski leaning in after a punch and coldclocked him out. The fight was pretty even so I don't know who to go for, but im leaning towards arlovski. But the sylvia line is appealing.

    Dont order the fights, go to winghouse or hooters if you have those near you and watch them for free while having some beers and the OBV waitresses.

    I don't think Ortiz loses this...as everyone else is saying. He is a lot more mature than he used to be, he hates Shamrock, and Shamrock is just too old.

    As far as the Sylvia fight...if Sylvia is +220 or whatever that's obv a good value, but this fight could literally go either way. Arlovski is the more well rounded fighter as he can win anyway, but Sylvia has his 10 ft arms and legs where he can basically punch and knee you from across the octagon. I'd be more inclined to leave this fight alone (betting wise) and just enjoy it.

    MadTiger....good info..I lurk on 2+2 from time to time but havent ever looked at the sports betting forum there.

    DJ Cordless...good call on going to Hooters...there is one about 25 minutes from my house. Not sure how much PPV costs but I figure for a meal and some beers I'd be paying the same but with food at Hooters.

    The flying knee knockout was a great fight. I guess that i was just hoping that Gracie would have won or at least put up some sort of a fight. My boy Vera won his fight and that was awesome.
