Admin Note: While P5s is allowing thechemist to post this because he's a well-known member of the community, this sort of contest is not allowed on a regular basis (ie, with a fee and with an external website). We evaluate these cases on a case-by-case basis with the default answer being "no". As stated below, P5s is not running this contest, is not taking a fee and is not going to intervene re: lost funds beyond banning anyone who scams other P5ers.

Our first 6-month contest was ultimately a success. Everyone seemed to talk highly about it in my post-contest survey. I tweaked a few rules to make the contest better this time around. I’ll get some guys from last contest to come and post in this thread and vouch for the integrity of the contest, the necessity of having a website to keep track of this contest, and their overall experience in joining last time.
Low Stakes Contest - $215 3 months:
1. Entry fee: $200+$15
a.) $15 per entry will go towards the creation and maintenance of an automated website throughout the contest, which is explained in more detail in the “Website” section.
2. Contest will begin with UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields on April 30, 2011.
3. Contest will end with the final UFC/Strikeforce event in July, 2011.
Medium Stakes Contest - $525 6 months:
1. Entry fee: $500+$25
a.) $25 per entry will go towards the creation and maintenance of an automated website throughout the contest, which is explained in more detail in the “Website” section.
2. Contest will begin with UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields on April 30, 2011.
3. Contest will end with the final UFC/Strikeforce event in October, 2011.
High Stakes Contest - $1,050 12 months:
1. Entry fee: $1,000+$50
a.) $50 per entry will go towards the creation and maintenance of an automated website throughout the contest, which is explained in more detail in the “Website” section.
2. Contest will begin with UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields on April 30, 2011.
3. Contest will end with the final UFC/Strikeforce event in April, 2012.
Contest Rules:
1. Entry fee money is to be sent on FullTilt to thechemist83. (T/FTOPS jersey)
2. All winners will be paid on FullTilt at the end of the contest.
3. Deadline to send money: Monday, April 25th at noon central.
4. All UFC events are eligible whether PPV or not. Only “major” Strikeforce events will be used in the contest. Eligible events will be determined at my discretion and will not include any Strikeforce Challengers events. Any Ultimate Fighter season finale will count towards the contest, but the individual fights throughout the season of The Ultimate Fighter will not count.
5. Multiple entries in each contest are allowed.
6. You can join more than one contest at the same time.
Scoring System:
1. Each person will submit a winner for each fight.
2. Undercard fights are worth a theoretical $100 bet.
a.) Undercard fights are any fights not on the original main card even if it is shown for free on TV/Facebook/etc. before, during, or after the main card.
3. Main card fights are worth a theoretical $200 bet.
a.) Main card fights are all fights excluding undercard fights and the final main event.
4. Main event fights are worth a theoretical $300 bet.
a.) Main event fights are the final live fight on the cards. These will be one fight per card and will not include the co-main event.
5. You will not be penalized with loss of points for incorrect picks.
6. Your bet amount will be given back to you in addition to your profit for correct picks.
7. All odds posted will come from pinnaclesports.com and will be posted as vig-free odds with a vig-free calculator (http://0vigcalc.150m.com/calc.htm).
a.) Example: The current odds for St. Pierre/Shields are -425/+365. With a vig-free calculator, the odds posted on our site will be -376/+376.

Website:
1. Each person will have their own unique login to submit their picks. Picks can be edited up to an hour before each event. Picks are set in stone and shown publicly an hour before each event. No one can view your picks until then except you.
2. Events will be posted on the website approximately a week in advance. At this time, people will be able to submit their picks at any point up to an hour before each event. When events are posted, everyone get an email notification.
3. All odds for each fight will be posted approximately a week before each event based on pinnaclesports.com odds at the time, and everyone receives an email notification. In some instances, pinnaclesports.com doesn’t release odds until a few days before the event. In these instances, odds will be posted as soon as they become available, and you will receive an email notification letting you know that they are now posted.
4. Points will be shown on an automated leaderboard on the website and should be updated live for most events and within 24 hours otherwise.
I will be holding all money for the duration of the contest. If you have any worries about this, I have backed over 100 players in the last 3-4 years in mostly high stakes online tournaments. I’ve held money for numerous contests and could get several high stakes poker players to vouch for my honesty. I was also backed by sheets/bax for a year in the past, and I'm sure either would be happy to vouch for me. I’ll also get some entrants from our past contest to vouch for me here.
The “extra” fee might not be very appealing on the surface, but I think it's much better to pay a little extra to have an automated website that keeps everyone's picks confidential to maintain the integrity of the contest. It's also nice to visit the site and see past and present results throughout the contest without having to contact me directly and wait for a response. I want to emphasize that I am getting no extra money for running this contest, and all entry fees go directly to my webmaster for his work before and during the contest.
If you have any questions, please ask here or message me privately.

EDIT: My webmaster has agreed to cap everyone's lifetime "rake" at $100. If you joined all 3 contests this time for $90 in extra fees, you'll only owe $10 in extra fees in future contests. -
not sure what kind of link you want, but mig got 1st for $6,000, and howdoiplayxx got 2nd for $2,000. The site was hosted on www.mttbacking.com/ufc and will be there again, but it's being revamped with the new rules, and everything is "hidden" behind a login.
-
I am in for all 3 contests. I sent the money.
Last time the contest was a lot of fun and ran very smoothly. Also the rake was definitely worth it for the website. The site was updated promptly every card. It made everything a lot more convenient being able to update your picks on the site and check standings, other peoples picks etc. -
Chem, I don't have money online... can I email transfer $215 to you?
pm me your name and email if you're cool with it -
I would crush this..
-
carrycakes has decided to withdrew and has been refunded. Johnny Cosmo has joined the $215 and $525 contests.
Also, my webmaster has agreed to cap lifetime rake for past, present, and future UFC contests at $100/person. I'll keep track of all entry fees paid now and in the past to make sure no one pays over $100. I'll also be refunding a small fee to mig as he had already paid $25 in fees before this contest. -
I am 100% in for sure on the $215, 3 month contest.
I have to put money into tilt and let it clear, but will be shipping as soon as that process is over. -
Yes... The extra rake is well worth it. Having a website is the way to go. It's very convenient and it just makes the overall
experience of the contest more exciting. The contest was a lot of fun and the webmaster did a very good job
of always updating the standings/content on time... I enjoyed it, and I'd def do it again. -
I am definently interested in the $215 one.
-
cool.. will mark you down as interested.. obviously, there's no rush to send money until the deadline nears, but I think if people who are interested would send money sooner rather than later, many more people would join us.. getting alot of people saying "depends on how many you get"
-
Just sent $215 on Full Tilt. Screenname is toerazor. Thanks this looks sick.

welp UFC contest will go on.. if ftp releases funds ever, you'll be paid if you win... if not, you won't be
if you want in and haven't sent money yet, pm me for other methods of payments, but please be aware that you wont be paid if you win unless ftp releases funds.... if ftp doesn't release funds within 2 years of contest start date, your money will be refunded... so if you're not willing to wait it out with us all, then obviously don't join
aka_advanced is in for all 3 contests -
Now we know funds are going to be released! GTFI OT
