  1. My 18 year old son has cystic fibrosous. Yesterday he was admitted to the hospital for stomach pain and vomiting. This afternoon he had surgery during which they had to remove about half of his large intestine. He came through it ok, but is in a lot of pain. They have him pretty doped up on morphine, but according to him not enough. He cannot eat anything for at least two more days, and they said to expect to stay in the hospital for at least a week. This really puts a lot of things in perspective because it really sucks watching your child feeling miserable and not be able to do anything about it. He has handled it like a trooper though, except for when he flipped off one of the nurses when she wouldn't increase his morphine dosage right away. He did apologize for it, and he probably wont remember any of it tomorrow.
