  1. 2 grand slams in an inning will never be broken

  2. with todays NCAA and players being one and done, John Wooden's 7 straight Nat'l titles and 10 in 12 years will never be sniffed at
  3. favres consecutive game streak looks pretty solid. prolly only threatened by rule changes which reduce hits QBs take. i think favres is more significant than ripkens.

I have read maybe 3 or 4 of your posts and all you talked about was Favre or Jennings...Too lazy to look, but I am guessing you are from Wisconsin.
  5. Ty Cobb's .367 lifetime batting avg.

    Johnny Vander's back-to-back no hitters

Nolan Ryan's 5,714 career strike-outs (Vazquez needs 17 and a half years at his current pace, CC would need 20 years, Linecum 20 years)

Pete Rose's 4,256 hits (Jeter would need 6 and a half more years)
  6. what usain bolt runs in the 100 this summer in london should last for awhile.

I agree on Rose's hits, Ryan's K record and everyone who is saying all time wins for a pitcher. The way Verlander was pitching last year, taking no-hitters late into a bunch of games, I wouldn't rule out a pitcher throwing consecutive no-hitters.
  16. yeah come on consecutive no hitters very breakable
  17. Most have already been said, but Mariano Rivera's all time saves record may not be touchable when he finally hangs them up.

Longest Return of a Missed Field Goal (109 yards)
Antonio Cromartie, San Diego Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings, Nov. 4, 2007
    Longest Punt Return (103 yards)
Robert Bailey, Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints, Oct. 23, 1994

It has to be 3 consecutive to break the record... I can see people getting 2, but throwing 3 back-to-back-to-back is pretty much impossible
  19. Oh and Barry Bonds home run record(s)**

    **juice
  20. yeah, still possible tho

Ichiro would need his Japanese stats to count and extrapolate them to 162 game seasons

  22. some mutant pitcher like danny almonte but the big league version could come along and just be untouchable.
  23. longest punt by a quarterback: 91 yards randall cunningham
  24. That argument can be made for every record tho. It's not like there is any record that is truly untouchable. Throwing 3 consecutive no-no's seems as immposible as any other record seeing as how only one person has ever thrown 2 back-to-back and that was 73 years ago.
  25. don't know if it was a record or not, but don't know when we'll see another pitcher win 3 games in one world series. johnson w/ arizona dbacks.

a little surprised flipper anderson's record still stands w/ all the rule changes. he put up a 3 spot receiving i think...

gotta disagree here, so many great pitchers are capable of throwing a no hitter every time out. It's way more likely than catching a royal flush 3 hands in a row, for example.

That record will stand for a long while, and he still has plenty of miles left in his posting career. There is no end in sight. Notable milestones left for WAR to accomplish, and subsequently create more threads about:

    - losing virginity
    - obtaining drivers license

Or losses, for that matter. (Cy Young has both)
