Today is my first day back working since Jan. 28th. With all the weather, my line of work has been slowed down a ton.
I didnt know I could do this until some guys told me today, but I can file for partial unemployment for the days ive missed.
So I just did that, but I worked today and we are going to get more snow tonight which means I proabably wont have work for the rest of the week. How does this work? Will they send me shit and I have to tell them which days I work and which days I dont?
This is my first time ever dealing with unemployment of any kind, so I have no clue how this system works.
Any help? -
we get it you have a job...well sort of
:)
I'm guessing you just have to claim whatever money you made this week and that would get deducted from your <strike>government welfare</strike> unemployment check -
You dont understand how it feels inside to take advantage of government money. Ive never got to do it before.

I feel like my taxes are doing some good, now that im getting money back. -
well you're actually getting money from your company and other companies. Any company that employs people has to buy "unemployment insurance" This money is used to pay unemployment benefits.
I don't have a real problem with unemployment benefits but they shouldn't last for almost two years, which they do now with the Bush/Obama/state extensions.
I was just teasing ya anyways. If I get laid off again (knock on wood I don't) I'm going to be so pissed I'm def just going to claim unemployment. -
<SPAN>Yeah, if you suffer unemployment through no fault of your own, then you can apply for unemployment. I am not sure where you apply for in your state, but in Texas when my Job shut down for 5 weeks, I went to the Texas workforce and applied and received benefits until my employer started back production.</SPAN>

most likely any taxes that have been withheld from you have been refunded to you when you filed your returns, so anyway...

search unemployment for your state and go to the website. all the info should be in there.
here, lazy bones.
