  1. I'm worried the US dollar might drastically lose value and I want to diversify my investments overseas. Anyone know anything about that shit?
  2. Buy Euro's. Send the rest to that delightful outfit in Nigeria.
  3. That's what I did Mr. Smith but I am still waiting for my check. Should I be worried?
  4. I'm a jackass, I don't know how to buy euros (obv w/o going to Europe). Is there some reliable online currency trading thing?

  5. They are 100% legit, Mark. My check is in the mail and should arrive any day. In fact, i just heard the mailtruck go by. Be right back.
  6. can't u just get euros from your bank?
  7. I am so glad to hear that. I was beginning to worry. Thank you.
  8. Get what? Can I go to my bank and say, gimme my money in Euros? I seriously don't know shit about this stuff. My money just sits in a bank account earning 5% interest (needed all my money in one place for the condo closing, now I want to invest some of it).

  10. Wheewwww. Thank God, I already have that money spent.
  11. Invest in the stock market.
  12. We are -9 trillion dollars in debt.

    invest in euros pal.

    OH MY FRIGGIN HEAD.

    gg america.
  13. what fucking bank account is giving you 5% interest, this doesnt add up at all.

maybe if you have an ign account, maybe.
  14. I don't think investing in the stock market is quite what I want to do. Simply put, I want to make sure a good size portion of my money is VERY diversified and safe. By investing in several currencies globally, I essentially guarantee that my money will remain stable providing there isn't a massive global economic breakdown. The Euro would certainly be part of my investment, but I'd also be looking at other countries as well (China and Russia come to mind, but there are certainly others).

  15. Please don't ban him yet. I have yet to enjoy a good 2guns 9/11 conspiracy post. I have only heard rumors.
  16. Its an ING savings account, didn't think it was anything too special. I know 5% is a good interest rate, but I think I might be limited on my transactions or something.

This is what I'm trying to avoid, I want to know what my money is doing for me and right now I don't.

  17. Suggest not taking this kind of serious issue to the off topic section of a poker discussion board?

    yellowpages.com/financialadvice??
  18. Just wanted info on where to get more info. I'm not really looking for specific investment advise. Thanks for the link to the yellowpages section though.

  19. Buy Gold - in all a seriousness Gold is a great store of value....over thousands of years - the commodity boom over the last few years has been huge - but there's definitely still room. You can buy a Gold ounce for about $680 - $700 today
  20. Where the hell is Seykota, she is the one you want to ask about this
  21. 5% is like the min these days. FNBOdirect.com has 6% until September.
  22. eddie I saw that commercial at 4am too
  23. I work in the financial markets - it really is a great store of value - no 4 am infomercial period - thousands of years ago one ounce of gold had a similar value to what it has today - similar to what it could buy hundreds of years ago - just check out the inflation numbers....FWIW
  24. forex.com. easy to use
  25. the stock market is smoking hot right now, I highly recommend being in. if you're worried about diversification, consider an index fund or a spyder. these are securities that represent a piece of every stock in an exchange or index, like the Nasdaq or the S&P 500. So basically you track the movement of the market index itself, which has been climbing steadily recently.
  26. International Real Estate preferable in place with limited to no taxes

Look for a place that is attracting Americans, cause more and more Americans are investing abroad.

First Place that comes to mind is Panama.
  27. I respectfully disagree - the market is at all time highs - yes - but you have to consider that there may be a decent pull back after one of the best bull runs in our history...just something to consider.

OBV long run it doesnt matter - but over the next year or 2 we could decline from here...
  28. I can't afford to put too much of my money in anything non-liquid (recently engaged, bought condo, need new car) so real estate investment is probably out of the question for now. Gold might be a good safe investment of the size I'm looking for. Is that commodity trading? I'm basically looking to divorce a portion of my investment from the US dollar.
