  1. Guess our boy LV isnt around today so Ill start the thread.

USA v Ecuador starts in a few minutes. Hopefully we can get off to a decent start and put an end to our recent trend of giving up goals early. Would be a pretty big win for this team considering our lack of results against South American teams.

you can catch it on ESPN2 or online at ESPN3.

Ill have fun and predict a 3-2 victory with a late goal set up on Lando.

  2. This is a off topic of the OP, but regardless...These next 5 years are going to be interesting/exciting for US Soccer...more and more young US players are getting opportunities to play overseas and train and learn from elite talent from the world. Hopefully US can make a run with in the next 2 World Cups.
  3. I agree with that. Im also hoping that the excitement created by the last few tournies can translate into getting some more youngsters involved in the game. specially coupled with the poor economy and kids having to pay to play more expensive sports such as football. If we can get some of these young black super athletes involved USA could field a real respectable team.

didnt know Lando was injured. there goes my prediction lolz

No doubt...I heard an interview about 4 or 5 years ago, where a guy was saying that US Soccer needed to raid JuCos and grab as many 6'5-6'8 basketball players who either don't get offers from schools to continue playing, or still can't make grades, and put them up in their soccer academy. The athleticism would be ridiculous, and hopefully they could pick up the game quickly (Like 3 or 4 years)...who knows maybe even less time if that's what they are practicing 24/7.

  10. Loved to see Gooch play well for the USA, Jeff Montero looked lightning quick out there and was doing a great job of creating chances for Ecuador. Think both teams walk away pleased.
