USC will be playing more than a mile above sea level in 40 degree, cold, thin air. I am going to go out on a limb and guess that the vast majority of the team has never played in those conditions. For the kids from SoCal, it's going to hurt to breathe and probably be a physically uncomfortable game. I think they still win against a dreadful CU team, but I like CU at +21.5. Also keep in mind that USC is coming off a tough loss and is suspect against weak opponents (beat Minnesota by two earlier this season).

Reason: Incorrect on ATS stat. -
is Richardson playing? I saw he was at practice this week but didnt see anythig about his playing time.
-
Odd, you're not mattg.
-
They will struggle in the 1st half but I think they get it going in the 2nd. CU is a woeful team. I might look CU's way if the line gets near 23 but at 21, its either USC or no play for me. I think the under might be worth a look as well. 41-13
-
Yeah, I also took CU +13 1H and under 58.5 for game. The half-point over 3 TDs isn't much, but I won't be surprised if it makes the difference.
-
I'm surprised colorado even has enough players to suit up a defensive back field. I like the theory but i won't be going contrary on this game. Laying off.
-
I agree on the under sentiment.

DO NOT TAKE CU!!

even if P Rich and and Rodney Stewart play tonight it will still not be close. We are going to lose by 35. It will be cold and it is at altitude but don't count too much on those variables. I was shocked when i saw the spread wasn't at least 28. Pre gaming is starting up right now.
With that said...GO BUFFS
EDIT- Richardson and Stewart are both playing tonight -
I got it at +21.5 last night on blowdog. Now it's +21 (-120) there. My local has it down to 20 and o/u 57. Might try to middle this bish.

Edit: Bought the hook for USC -19.5 with my local. Come on 20 or 21! -
colorado is beyond awful ... i wouldnt even take them to cover if this game was being played at the top of mount everest

Anyone saying take USC in this game doesn't bet sports profitably over a long run. Sure USC could cover this game but it's such an awful spot for them. And to the guy who said it should be 28, why do you think Vegas opened it at 21 and now it's 20 at most spots? Vegas loves people like you
-
I've got USC down to 21 and the under at 57
Im thinking somewhere around 45-10
considering USC is due for an emotional let down, i think you have a great point.Originally Posted by crtierney

However I'm an idiot and my bet if final. -
Wait, we are talking about University of Southern California vs. Colorado right? The same Colorado that lost by 34 to ASU, 43 to Oregon, 28 to UW, and 41 to Stanford.
I doubt USC will win by less than 28. I will jack off a mile above sea level in 30 degree weather wearing a buffalo mask if they do. -
I agree with most of this. However, from what I've read out of LA, the team and especially Barkley, is in good spirits. I think popular opinion is Barkley is probably leaving USC after this season, which means he only has a couple games left to really showcase himself (due to no postseason play). The spotlight will be on him tonight and I expect he plays pretty well. You're point about the letdown spot is an accurate one and I initially leaned CU earlier this week. Then I went back and watched CU a couple more times, they are staggeringly bad. It's not just a lack of talent, Embree is just clueless as a HC, CU went on the cheap for a HC and they got what they paid for. ASU, UO, UW have all hanged 40+ by the 3Q.

CU can cover this, but they are bad, really bad. You could argue that USC had a short week, let down loss, and the altitude, but CU is terrible. When everything is so against 1 team, statistically cu is terrible, by the eye test they are terrible, by the injury report they are terrible, from the HC position they are terrible, it's probably the spot to pick them and I do usually, I just don't see it tonight but GL to you guys.

Unless Antonio Gates reenrolled, (He didn't, I checked) Kent should get rolled. They play decent defense but can't score and CMU will score. I hate using commen opponents b/c that isn't a good way to quantify teams but I'll do it just for a point of reference. No Ill 40 Kent St 10 CMU 48 NO Ill 41. Scoring 38 more points on a team (forget the win part) is pretty huge. Anyway, with all of this u can make sure that Kent State will likely kick the shit outta CMU :)

not taking CU, they are HORRIBAD. USC is a square play tho
