Hey, so I'm trying to organize a Vegas trip next week from the 21-24th. My dad asked if I wanted to head out for a weekend, as neither of us have been before, so Im looking for any cool ideas on place to stay, and any shows going on right now that are worthwhile.
I was looking at Flamingo, about $90 a night for a Luxury GO View room.. thoughts? We don't plan on spending a ton of time in the room but my dad isn't that cheap either, so we don't wanna stay in a dump. Mainly looking for best hotel/location for under $100 a night...
Any suggestions from you guys would be cool, as Ive read a ton of stuff online and finding it pretty hard to differentiate between all the places -
Best cheap/decent hotel combo would probably be the Golden Nugget, but if you want to stay on the strip that wouldn't work obv.... almost all the hotels will be cheaper this time of year b/c Vegas is DEAD after CES and the Adult Entertainment expo...... Call around and see what you can find. I think even the Venetian/Palazzo will have Suites at great prices this time of year.
As far as shows go, if you like Cirque shows, O or Love are likely your best bets. As far as other shows are concerned I recommend Jersey Boys above anything else. It is amazing. Make sure to check out places like "Tix 4 Tonight" to try to get cheaper seats to some good shows.
Buffets.... I've posted this in other threads but the best two in my opinion are The M and The Wynn. The Wynn is very expensive, but definitely worth it.
My random fun thing in Vegas that most people don't see would have to be the Pinball Hall of Fame. If you or your dad likes pinball def look this place up and take a cab over to check it out. My dad played a lot of pinball when he was younger and I took him there when he came into town and he LOVED it.
If you have any other questions, let me know. Hope you have fun while you're here! -
what part of the Wynn isn't very expensive? but honestly, I went and got a wynn card and told them I really just wanted to try the buffet (even tho I had eaten it multiple times before) and they just added me one onto the card and I didn't have to wait in line for a seat...I also had to lose 300 in blackjack in 10 mins but it was worth it, lol...

I've stayed in the Go Rooms and they are fine...you won't be disappointed for $90

me and threeven stayed in a GO room at wsop 2009.
the damn blinds closed with a push from a button by the bed... how can you go wrong?
I used to just sit in the jacuzzi all day with the bose surround sound going through the entire bathroom while watching the tv in the mirror. was amazing.
My posts are very gay tonight. -
hmm ok cool. any thoughts on MGM btw? I just found a special they're running on their website and its $255 total for 3 nights in a grand tower room.
I think Id rather be in the Flamingo/Bellagio/Caesars area though since its our first time in Vegas and would be cool to have a bunch of places in close walking distance so we can bounce around... -
Can you pick up a grill for me that I am bidding on?
-
If you stay at the MGM you can take the Deuce up the strip anytime you want.....

The Flamingo isn't that nice fwiw. If you want to stay in that area, Bellagio or Caesars are both better. -
hmm ok cool thanks a lot. forgive my ignorance... i know very little about Vegas
im still looking around at all the special offers and will prolly try to make a decision by tomorrow. there seem to be quite a few good deals and have found rooms at the MGM, Mirage, and others for about $300 total for 3 nights or less
im def pretty excited to check it all out next week -
Stay away from single deck blackjack that pays 6:5.
Stay away from double zero roulette.
Play craps, pass line, max odds. Do not bet the firebet. -
Carnival Buffet at the Rio for all your meals, free shuttles there too!
$24 all day all you can eat, not a better deal in Vegas for one of the best buffets! -
I just want to know who eats at a buffet all day.
damn people. -
Seriously if I am going to a buffet I am going to Wynn. Also, like Niceguy said, stay away from single deck but if you find some double decks...hit em hard!!
