A couple poker buddies and I are going to Vegas for a Tuesday - Saturday trip this summer. Please provide any advice you have on:
1.) Best places to play $1-$2 cash games. Games I'm interested in are O/8, Razz, Stud, Stud/8. I don't much like playing Hold'em cash.
2.) Best NL hold'em tournies in the $60 and less range.
3.) Nice places to stay on the strip cheaply.
4.) Non-poker things that should be seen/done while in Vegas.
Thanks in advance. -
I'm pretty sure you're not going to find any omaha/razz/stud at the 1/2 level. 1/2 nlhe everywhere. $60 tournies at sahara/ballys/more all along the strip,
Stay anywhere on the strip, it's only a room, you won't be there anywhere.

Here is a web site that lists every tournament in vegas all day every day
http://www.lasvegasvegas.com/poker/tournaments.php
also some things you have to see are the wax museum the fountain in front of belagio at night. The pirate show at treasure island and if you like to part i recomend club pure inside Ceasars palace. Its right next to the poker room and it's one of the best poker rooms on the strip. The last time I was there they had 2 or 3 2$-10$ stud games going and a few 3$ 6$ omaha games going. The Paris has a nice 65$ noon time tourney -

Do NOT follow AllVegasPoker as they do not have proper tourney schedules. Easiest thing to do is, figure out where you're staying, figure out which casinos are next to you, and email/call for tourney schedules. I was there about a month ago and can tell you many of those tourney schedules are full of shit.

GL finding a razz game that is not high stakes, the ONLY stud table I saw in vegas was a thte Flamingo 1-10 spread limit I think.

Booze. Sluts. Gambling. Booze. Sluts. Poker. In that order. Scratch that, don't even play poker.

Im with u on that don.

If you wanna play poker, go to shitty ass ac. Vegas shouldn't even have card rooms. Oh and do go to gilleys in the frontier and watch the sluts mud wrestle and bull ride! YEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW!

Just do it, because I say so, and the play is easy. Harrah's run's $100 tourneys daily at 11 am, 330 pm, 730 pm, and 11 pm (I think, I might have the 30's off,) that are SOOOOOO freaking soft. 2 of the 4 are "rebuys" you can either take immed or after you bust for a total of like $90, but stil just worth it. Easy money, if that's what you're looking for.
Otherwise go to Henderson, and do some blow off whatever hooker's butt Waco has laying around. -
trust me on this, you're going to want to stay at treasure island. you and your buddies can start the 2-4 mixed game, and choose whatever games you want to play for the mix. the staff there is great, and they run a $60 tournament 3-4 times a day and usually get 3-4 tables for the evening one.

MTC has basically spoken for me. I highly recommend going over to Treasure Island where you and your crew can request the 'Tangerine Mixer' and basically choose from several games to be played (including all the ones you mentioned and the option of adding others such as Chinese Poker, Badugi, etc.). As long as you have enough players, you shouldn't have a problem starting up your own table. Also, you all can decide to keep it at very low limits (even 2/4) if you so choose. I'll be dealing there on Wed., Thurs., Fri., and Sun on day shift 11-7 so stop by if possible. Also, there are actually 6 tournaments a day. I'd suggest the 11am on Friday or Saturday, or any of the 7pm ones.
Side note: Go by MGM during the day and you might be lucky enough to witness legend-in-making ClayGongora who deals there. (SFobv brag post that Clay dealt to me once)
PM me for more details on TI. I'll go ahead and get something set up for you guys if you want.
