    On microsoft.com you can get a free trial of many different softwares. Last I knew Computer Associates was giving a free year. It's what I set up for my son in college.

    You can also go to TUCOWS.com and they have a ton of free spyware and anti virus programs you can DL. most are d/l'd from cnet which i have alway found to be a trusted site.gl

    I have tried them all and Avast! is the way to go. In my opinion it is better than the pay ones, which I have owned most of those too. Way better than norton or mcafee.

    As someone else posted....AVG Free is pretty good, and can be found at free.grisoft.com

    For AntiSpyware, I still think MS's Antispyware PWNS.

    for antivirus i use grisoft's avg free edition.

    for antispyware, i use the following:
    ccleaner
    ad-aware
    spybot
    microsoft antispyware
    a squared free

    Thanks for the input every1. If my PC runs any slower I'll be using time lapse photography to view web pages.
