I'm curious if anyone uses voice dictation, what you use and how you like it. It looks like Dragon Naturally Speaking and IBM ViaVoice are the only ones out there. Any opinions?

It takes awhile to get used to some of the words I use and it has trouble with words that sound alike but are spelled differently, but it is easy to use and a whole lot more accurate than I though it would be. I still have to proof read it carefully though.
I have drafted 40 page documents in only several hours.
Also, it is much like any other piece of technology, you have to learn the ins and outs for it to use it to it max, but it is also very usable without knowing everything about it.
I use it for longer documents so for me it is much easier than typing or using a voice recorder for someone to transcribe.
The headset speaker, however, is a piece of shit uncomfortable and cheap. I broke it and now I have it taped up like the Hanson brothers glasses.
Bottomline is that I like it. I also only paid $99 for it as an addon to my Dell labtop. -
Oh, easily my biggest gripe with dictation software is the " intelligence" of it. The tutorial states that you should speak in long sentences but it always interprets some idiotic change in what you said, with vista I am constantly saying "correct that" "1 OK", because the first choice is usually just sitting there completely different from what it typed.

Well, I just waxed Vista for XP, so it looks like I will try DNS9. Thanks Heynow and Willywoo!
