  2. 2006 Honda C-RV.

enjoy the $16K I just saved ya.
  3. I drive a 2010 impreza hatchback (non WRX), gets 25 MPG, AWD and drives way better than anything in it's class/Price range. I hear the 2012's get 35 MPG - pretty sick for AWD. Didn't need it much this year, but the year before I was really happy I had it.

The new Jettas and Passats suck, they changed the design and components to compete at lower sticker prices. Don't do it!

Lastly, OBV Niceguy's suggestion is the best.

  4. I have a 2009 WRX. One of the best all around cars out there. Fast, fun, great utility. Under 30 grand. Just an awesome car.
  5. I bought a 2011 Jetta last May, put 15,000 miles on it and haven't had any problems as of yet *knock on wood*.

The new model Jetta's look like any other generic sedan out there.

I had completely forgotten about ghost writing, just saw Niceguy's on the previous page, hopefully this hasn't been goign on for a while and I've been missing out on some gold. Feels like I'm gonna go back to 2007 and just highlight the entire page in hopes.

I'd suggest the Audi if you live in MA cause the Quattro is gonna be a beast in the winter.

Aren't Jettas and Audis pretty much the same care? Like I thought the A4 was like identical except for the body. Just more $
  7. I had a Volkswagen Corrado once. The worst car I ever owned. It's bad enough that it broke down all the time, but aftermarket parts were non existent. Volkswagen parts were expensive as hell, and I had to take it to shops that were actually able to work on Volkswagens. Yeah, German cars are kinda cool because fewer people have them, but they are a pain in the ass and very quirky.

Buy a Honda or a Toyota and save yourself tons of hassles and money.
  8. the company that owes its name to --- hitler. you should def buy one.
  9. I just bought a passat as a second car and it's a great mile turner. 25k for the SE with Sunroof. Still have the Cadillac for going anywhere not associated with the business.

edit and whoever said it was a horribly rated car.....motor trend 2012 car of the year.

  15. Wow lots of VW hate in this thread.

I currently work valet at a high-end restaurant so I drive all types of cars. Volkswagen is probably the best non-luxury auto brand. They're basically the poor mans Audi.

Check out the Jetta GLI. It's 25k+ w/ a 200hp 2.0T (can be chipped to 256hp). It's a GTI in a small sedan body rather than a hatchback.

The Passat is really nice too and varies a lot in price depending on features. Here's a link to the 2012 car of the year article (old news) http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/...t/viewall.html

Pretty sure no one in OT drives a car that costs less than 40k which makes it easier to bang 10s all day.
  17. Drove an '03 passat for 4 years and it was great. It's basically an A4 without all the bells and whistles. As far as repairs it was great too. 4 years and all I had to replace was a rusted out exhaust. Handled well in winter even tho it wasn't an AWD model.

It seems like people either love or hate VWs. I read reviews about constant repairs but that wasn't the case for me. Ended up selling it and getting a Subaru Legacy, which I regret. The Legacy will hold it's value really well and handles amazing in winter, but its boring to drive and middle aged lesbians keep asking if I want to hang out and join their club.

Next car is gonna be an Infiniti G37x unless I go back to a SUV.
  18. Test drove a jetta, seemed quick. F150 kinda sluggish. Had a classic f150 with a 350 and it was smoother.

  19. '09 Camry - love Camry's even though they are your basic every day car. They handle pretty nice and for a 4 cylinder it actually has a little getup - average about 25 mpg, 32 on trips

  20. i have an 06 accord and it's been a great car. don't buy new, there are some quality certified used cars out there. unless that's your thing.

  21. i've been driving the same 04 jeep grand cherokee limited for 6 years now and I love it as much today as the day I got it. The only problem is the obv bad gas mileage but literally love every other thing about it. at about 140k miles now hoping I can get her to 200k and beyond
  22. 2006 Honda CR-V, would recommend, it's the last year of the series (third series redesign was 2007), awesome car.
  23. I was driving a POS '99 Mazda Protege up until a few months ago...it wouldn't handle a car seat, so we had to sack it.

I am now driving my wife's 2007 Jetta (some limited edition one?)...I think it's great. Only thing I hate is that she got black leather interior, which SUCKS in the summer.

She got the new 2012 CRV, which I also like.

I've never understood people's fascination with cars tho...I don't give a shit what my car looks like as long as it will get me from A to B. If money were no problem, I might splurge a little bit, but I doubt I'll ever buy anything over $45K. I'll take the money I can save on buying a perfectly fine car and use it to pay off my mortgage...

  24. Pretty sure CR-V and awesome should never be used in the same sentence, unless accompanied with "far from" or "not."

I just sold my 2012 Ford Explorer because my Grandma passed away and they left me a 2005 CR-V SE. It's really nice, has 40k miles on it, and depreciates like 500 bucks a year because every Mom in the world wants one. When I go to sell it in a few years I'll still get 10k for it. Considering I paid nothing for it, a CR-V is awesome.

was in the dealership the other day, they had a 2006 CR-V w 70K miles and wanted $12.5K, we paid a little under $20K for ours new. unreal how they hold their value, I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

lol, my mom randomly mentions how much she loves CRV's all the time. My sister starting having kid a few years back, and suddenly wants a CRV.
