  2. Yes, these unelected officials, who are some of the most brilliant people in this country, are less equipped to deal with abortion laws compared to people like Akin and religious nutsos. As much as I disagree with Scalia and Alito, these guys can construct a legal argument cause they're really fucking smart.

  3. I'm voting for Romney and the debates won't change that. I thought biden won but I also thought the laughing and interuptions were very annoying. I thought Ryan had the 2 best lines of thing night with the words don't always come out right and the I know your under a lot of pressure but let me talk. FWIW I dont see this debate swaying any of the indies.
  4. He also had the worst two lines of the night with, "We don't think that unelected judges should make this decision, that people through their elected representatives in reaching a consensus in society through the democratic process should make this determination", and "I know you’re under a lot of duress to make up for lost ground".

and Biden's reply to "the words dont always come out right" with "but atleast I always say what I mean" was pretty solid as well.

Well, this is just crazy talk. What actually happened and what u believe happened are quite different.

Also things like planned parenthood and free condoms/birth control would do a hell of a lot to limit abortions, but the right doesn't seem that in favor of that kind of stuff.

  6. Free condoms won't do shit to curb abortion rates. Lets not kid ourselves here. Its not like the hurdle keeping kids from using protection is "oh geez; the price of condoms is so high; let's just take a chance here" and its not like there isn't easy access to them. Just look at jay one and apply his mindset to millions of teenagers

"Providing birth control to women at no cost substantially reduced unplanned pregnancies and cut abortion rates by a range of 62-78 percent compared to the national rate, a new study shows."

  14. Ryan talked to some homeless people outside, they didn't have voter ID so he left.

How much you want to bet the guy they quoted in the story is voting Obama?

"He said that he runs an apolitical faith-based organization which has bylaws barring it from hosting political candidates, and that the visit jeopardized donations from private individuals."

sounds like a political agenda. Catholics for Obama 2012!

Still can't stop laughing that the supposed Christian party takes issue with providing food to the poor. That is an actual attack, he provided food! Unbelievable

Your post essentially said that you find it ridiculous that the cost of condoms (aka contraception) would in any way be prohibitive enough to affect the rate of abortions. Though not specifically studying condoms, the article I posted shows that when contraception is free, abortion rates go down. I think the article is quite relevant to your claims, even if we ignore the fact that condoms are, fuck for fuck, one of the more expensive forms of contraception.

EDIT - NM, I missed part of your point, I think. condoms do suck, and not just because of the price. carry on.

  19. my point was that people choose not to wear condoms not because of price but because they're either lazy, irresponsible, or don't like the way it feels. While that study does show the drop in rates, notice the methods used: apply it and fuhgetaboutit: IUDs and nuva ring types, that require basically no upkeep/"work" like condoms do and it provides the natural feeling.

And, as far as the cost...well that all depends on the amount of sexual activity. I liken it to live games being pot raked as opposed to a time rake. The more you fuck, or the more pots you play, you'd be more suited for the IUD/nuvas, or time rake. The less you fuck, or the less pots you play, will have you better suited for condoms and time rake.

and i love how all personal responsibility is thrown out the window wrt to govt providing people contraception.

Now ins companies providing it is a diff story

And Sesame Street is also a non-partisan entity, which has asked President Obama to pull that laughable Big Bird ad, but the Obama campaign has refused.

hey - it's the thought that counts !!

well, that and the camera crew, secret service entourage, advisors, and campaign staff ...
  25. It's soooooooooooo bad. If someone wasnt fired for this Id be amazed.
  26. at first I could not watch the whole thing. Now I can't stop. When he says to his kids "im going to get them wet and you are going to dry them" it's soooo awkward.

  27. Line that got me was just before that, "I'm going to water them"

They are dishes, not a plant
  28. Paul Ryan goes to a soup kitchen without permission and it's a big deal.

Joe Biden admits we are helping Syrian rebels but most of the weapons are going to Islamic jihadists, it's fast and furious Syria.
