Except that saying "fuck" to other adults while in "polite company" is not fine. Also, the fact that you shouldn't do these things around children suggests that there's something wrong with them. You're super caught up on the word "bad" for some reason...let that go. Whether you call it "bad" or not, the fact that an activity is inappropriate around children or in public suggests that it is in some way different and "worse" than other activities that are not. Being naked is worse than being clothed. Saying "fuck" is worse than saying "hello."

They are only worse b/c of social norms. Over time with changes in social norms they could become less or more acceptable. Thus there not being "bad" or "curse" words, only social unacceptable or inappropriate words.

I don't know if you're leveling or not; or, even what level it is that you are on. I do disdain and enjoy your posts in equal measure, however.

This post is spot on and sucks at the same time.

Virtually everything that is bad is bad only because of social norms. In one of your earlier posts you even said that murder is bad because of social norms. Try harder.

So, you drop F bombs in job interviews?
  13. Nothing wrong with murder long as it is state sponsored, and you belong to the state that sponsors it

go watch the tour de france, euro.

as someone who speaks over the public airwaves, i make a conscious effort not to swear in my regular speech so that at some point i don't come on mic and just blurt out what a 'great fuckin' song that just was'. I would also admit to having a slightly lower opinion of people who overuse 'fuck'.

  19. I try hard not to swear in front of children and usually will tell my friends to watch it as well if there are kids around. Might be for not tho cause i hear these little shits using worse language then i do all the time no matter who is around

I think I have to add twat to the list of curse words. Wanker though - I think it's more derogatory than it is a curse.

    Fuck. Cunt. Twat.

  21. Lot of fucking unprincipled assholes in this god damned thread trying like hell to endorse cussing by saying any shit is okay if it is in the right damned context.
  22. I use the F bomb way more than i should - especially in mixed company but fuck it.

cuntbasket is a pretty cool new word but i havent had the courage to work that into my daily conversations as of yet.

I wouldn't swear like a drunken sailor, but I'm pretty good at easing f bombs into the conversation though. fwiw I have an awesome job, and I work around diplomats and ambassadors on a reg basis. Saying fuck doesn't offend many people in 2012.

Gd. More faux-gov intrusion into our lives!
  26. fag has become the next biggest no-no.

Some perfectly normal dude at my table referred to a floor person as gay (derogatively) and it got super weird with no one reacting at all. i thought it was a good moment for society that the comment was basically unaccepted but without a scene. natural reinforcement

Nobody will ever convince me that anything I can't do around children is bad (or that being naked is somehow worse than being clothed).

Reason: fucking > being around children imo. also saying fuck > saying hello
