RG3 clearly has elite potential but his absolute ceiling for this season should be around top 5-10ish.
The largest jump in relative skill a football player will ever see in their career is going from NCAA to NFL.
Even if he has a better season than Cam "GOAT rookie season" Newton had last year, there are still plenty of QBs that have large sample sizes at this level that should be higher than him just because they have so much less downside than even the GOAT rookie.
I'm high on RG3, but when you have a guy like Romo who is consistently top 5-10(with top 3 upside), selling high on RG3 is a good idea to improve weakness'. -
I think RG3 will develop into the truly elite class of QBs. But, I just have a hard time thinking RG3 stat line wont decline as this year goes on. His last 10 games are rather brutal.
@NYG
@Pit
Car
Philly
@Dal
NYG
Bal
@Cle
@Philly
Dal
That's a rough stretch of games for any QB let alone a rookie, regardless of how good he is. -

No need to hedge, you had well thought out opinions, good information that I didn't even know about, and you convinced me that it's a lot closer than I originally thought.
You didn't convince me that you're right and I'm wrong, but I feel like we're talking about some really small margins here. -
at least i kept Brown on the bench last night for lolCJ2K............

Just traded Chris Johnson straight up for Forte... I have Spiller, Bush, and Pierre Thomas, and Jonathan Stewart. figured when Forte is back I can have him handcuffed and Johnson has been a mess. I wish it didn't go through before the weekend though, I have Vick starting over brady and for flex it's Randy Moss, Pierre Thomas, or pick someone like Santonio Holmes off the free agency...

the schedule is very tough, but as long as Griffin is healthy, I think a lot of people that trade him will end up regretting it.
I definitely would NOT move him for a RB3 or WR3 or 4...
and yeah. I'll take RG3 over Romo all day every day, both in fantasy and real football. not even a contest. -
good post and thanks for the explanation. I would trade Stafford and roll with RG3, but I mean, I'm a full blown homer. I also think I know a shit ton about Griffin compared to others, and I just don't see him falling off, at all (assuming Garcon gets back to 100%, that's his only legit weapon to open up the field)

The league is also .5 pt receptions, and I'm super thin at RB, but stacked at WR and I spent my late first round pick on Stafford, who I kind of have to roll with despite his first 2 games. Our league's flex spot is W/R/T, so I'm forced to choose between sitting Stafford and RG3 every week, otherwise I wouldn't even consider it.
Also, because of being in a 6pt QB TD league, I think I could get pretty great value for him, and I'm definitely hoping for better offers than Ryan Matthews. The only problem is that nobody is in dyer need of a starting QB bc nobody's gotten injured yet and I think the worst starting fantasy QBs in our league are probably Romo, Peyton & Vick.
So given this information, u can understand why I may have to try to trade RG3. Or do I roll with RG3 as the starting QB and try to trade Stafford (which sucks bc he's been bad the first 2 games but may not be that terrible since all my buddies are Lions homers and may overpay for him)? -
dire need of a wr

trying ap for harvin, if not murray for jordy or marshall.
jordy vs marshall ROS PPR?
(murray 4 harvin isn't an option as i would become viking dick - i have others)
edit: distance scoring, TD's range from 3 for <=10 to 10 for 60+ -
in 10 years ppl are going to laugh at the notion of peyton being greater than eli -
Marshall gets 100 targets per week from Cutler.
In non-PPR, it would be Jordy with no question. In PPR, I think Marshall is the better option. How quickly we forget that Marshall had 100+ catches in 3 consecutive seasons in Denver while posting 6, 7, and 10 TDs.
Jordy had 68 catches last year...more of a deep threat without question, but 40 catches is 40 points...that would be a lot of yards or 6 TDs. -
thanks for the input JRoth/Amartin

nothing happened tonight as my main target was busy and shit
picked up avant (is tmrw that 1 game he always has?) and collie (last game b4 retiring?) for wr3 just in case nothing happens tmrw -
What's the best line for this roster in a 10 team non ppr league? Do I just hold onto all my RBs or try and swing a deal while their value is high for an upgrade at QB or WR2?
1 QB - Romo (A. Smith)
2 WR - Megatron, Lloyd (DJax, L. Robinson)
2 RB - Murray, Spiller (A. Brown, M. Bush, M. Turner)
1 TE - J. Graham (A. Hernandez)
1 Flex -
at least you save me from being the biggest QB homer on the board... my god man
-
wow i need to be in this league. lol @ trading Forte for Johnson straight up

With Maclin out I need to replace him with either

Ogletree vs TB
Mcluster @ NO
Moss @ Min
Or pick somebody up. I actually like Mcluster but he is questionable himself. So go with Ogletree and hope he is more like week 1 than 2?
PPR
FA available
James Jones
Stephen Hill
Kendall Wright
Brandon Tate
Or Avant with Maclin out -
Ogletree. TB just gave up +500 yards passing on them vs the Giants with Cruz and Nicks both going for about 200 and 10 catches a piece.

Should I start demaryius vs Houston
Or djax vs az
I know Thomas is the #1 wr in fantasy right now but Houston's d is suffocating opposing wr's and Philly will most likely be with out maclin -
start ap... he's A MOTHERFUCKING P.
I have a question about my 3rd receiver in 2 leagues. My team is pretty week at the 3rd receiver slot and not sure who to roll with
first decision is Heyward bey vs Steelers or Santonio vs the fins
my 2nd decision is
Boldin vs the pats
Mike williams vs the cowboys
stephen hill vs the fins -
u could be right. I still think after watching cutler's suckitude vs the packerS I wanna see more from marshall before benching a stud like nelson for him. They are both really good options obviously, u must have some sick wideouts maybe trade me one.

what is the general rule on starting a team D/ST that is facing your QB?
I'm in a weird 2QB league that only gives 4 pts for passing TDs and 0.5 pts for every 20 passing yards, so I drafted my QBs late and got Vick and Freeman.
I have Dallas D/ST who is facing Freeman this week. So my options are to sit DAL and pick up another D/ST or I can sit Freeman and plug in Scott Schandler off my bench as a 2nd flex. Leaning towards keeping Freeman in and picking up Browns or Colts D/ST. -
that seems accurate for all the other positions, but when your team D/ST is facing your QB, I feel like you're limiting your combined upside, no? By definition they can't both have a big game if they are facing eachother.
