You guys get a break. Biron is playing tonight. Have fun though. Sounds like a great atmosphere.

It really sucks not having P2P and atdhe.net. Im contemplating getting a Slingbox. -
Ugh, Hope Pronger is ok, that was nasty.

Edited By: Hecklerz Oct 25th, 2011 at 03:16 AMYeah, he sure proved his worth tonight. Would of had a better chance with Sequin. It's simple, your AHL team isn't ready to play with the big boys yet. Back to the sandbox with you Laff'ers.Originally Posted by jonnyg123

phil kessel is the best hockey player in nhl history and its not close.
PS: get used to that outcome. A lot more where that came from. -

some unreal bad lapses to let Jagr get behind the D THREE times, but we had tons of chances. flyers earned the victory but it could've gone either way if kule buries his mini breakaway, grabo scores one of the two chances right in front of the net, puck doesnt bounce over kadri's stick in front of net etc.
anyways, kessel scored again so I don't know why you're bringing seguin into this when it's a completely fucking irrelevant point right now. come back in 3 years and we'll discuss seguin vs kessel -
just wondering why F Canada is in the thread title?
Also, Kessel is obv not going to keep up pace, i'm not that stupid, but if he finishes over 40 I will be quite happy.
Toronto does have a good record but none of the wins have come against good teams, and have lost against the only 2 good ones. Not trying to be a big downer or anything, but so far they have beat the teams they should beat and lost to the teams they should lose to. Exactly what a 10-7 seed does.
If we can keep up winning the games vs bad teams and mix in a couple upsets we could squeek in. -
ok idc now that I know you made it, I thought it was chancemcc who put that in there which was confusing
-
wpg don't dump the puck into the corner on the rush with ~10 seconds left. awful
-
Rangers somehow beat Jets 2-1 despite only 17 shots and zero offensive pressure throughout the game. They only had 14 shots versus Edmonton.. The record was decent for the road trip 3-2-2 but its the same old story with this team for the last three seasons great goalie they block effloads of shots but they have zero offensive creativity.
-
is Richards doing any good or if he been a bust so far?
-
Kinda early to tell but only goal so far in 7 games..PP was 30th in the league going into tonight. They did have two goals on PP but he had nothing to do with them. If anything I expect him to be a huge benefit on the man advantage. Heck they cant be any worse than they were last year. If hes playing the point like he is now he better start firing the puck more.
-
Holmgren told reporters after the game that Pronger has swelling around his right eye and will be on bed rest for the next three days. An eye doctor will meet with Pronger each of the next four days and if the swelling goes down, he's expected to re-join the team in 10-14 days, but in a skating-only capacity, not playing.
And he has to wear a visor for now on. To me it looked like grabo's stick woulda went under the visor anyway.
I have a vague memory of pronger getting hit in the chest with a puck and almost dying when he was in st. louis -
rangers showing they have a great track record for signing free agent centres lol
-
Can we at least give Richards 20 games or so before we start lumping him in with the Holik's,Gomez,Drury. I am very skeptical though.

I was hoping he would be more of the Nylander type success. His first year after the lockout with Jagr and Straka they were amazing. Honestly the team hasnt been the same offensively since they didnt resign him. -
ya rosen was sayin how two PP goals is a big deal...but callahan's hardly counts, as it was basically a fast break goal...still very worried about PP..definitely no creativity...rangers are fun team to watch though...callahan diving to block puck in last minute epitomizes the heart of this team

as for richards, gotta give it time, like u said...ya i miss jagr straka nylander line...rangers havent even had anything close to that line since then -
And if the queen had balls she'd be king.
The only reason I bring Sequin into this thread is because he has accomplished more for his team than what Kessel has for his. Screw 3 years, Sequin already has a playoff goal for his current team AND a SC ring. What does Kessel have other than some talk about being part of a bad trade followed with a " fire Burke, fire Wilson, trade Kessel".
Very accomplished guy you got there... -
seguin (with a g) was a healthy scratch for half the playoffs.

the logic here is so faulty it's ridiculous. lots of guys have rings that did NOTHING for their team...not to say seguin did nothing in the playoffs but LOL at saying that because he has a ring he has accomplished more for his team. you're an idiot -
Edited By: Hecklerz Oct 25th, 2011 at 05:52 PMDon't forget I also said Seguin scored in the playoffs for the Bruins, unlike Kessel for the Leafs.Originally Posted by jonnyg123

Bottom line is this, the Leafs took a bit of a bitch-slap last night by a much better/superior team. It is okay though because they will receive the same from about 60% of the Eastern conference. Kessel could score 100 goals but the reality is, not one of them will be in the playoffs as long as he is a Leaf. None.
Seguin on the other hand is already on the scoresheet. I mean, Kessel was "playing" hockey (I'm using that term loosely) before Tyler was even drafted. It isn't his ring that makes him accomplished (because we all know Boston ordered like 505 of the things), it is the fact that he not only played in playoff games (something Leafs haven't done for a long time), but also got himself a few points on the way to the glory land.
Honestly,
Majority of Eastern Conference > Leafs
And it's not even close.
Reason: Did you lose a bet? Why are you cheering for the bums? -
the problem is that you present your argument as if the bruins got to the playoffs and won the cup because of seguin
"The only reason I bring Sequin into this thread is because he has accomplished more for his team than what Kessel has for his"
and that's plainly wrong. it's like the fucking mvp debates in every sport, do you have to make the playoffs to be more valuable to your team? who's in worse shape? leafs without kessel or bruins without seguin? if you want to talk about the leafs being shitty and not winning since 67, fine, I love my team but I'm not ignorant. but these retarded kessel vs seguin arguments are so fucking dumb
