  1. Swallowing your whistle on a penalty shot is a little different than swallowing it on a 2 minute penalty. I agree their is a different standard by which penalties are called in overtime, but anything that qualifies as a penalty shot needs to be called at all times period. Take your scrub Morrison back plz Vancouver, how the hell do u not pick the close corner to shoot at there but instead put it where his body is.......

  2. Complete joke
  3. only saw the play quickly on SC but that didnt look like a penalty shot call too me...

and LOL heavyJ PLZ do u rly want me to bring up the stats showing that if the NJD ran like a normal team, not hotter than the sun, u would be sniffing yakupov.

  4. i mean, look at the division they play in. only team better than them in the other two divisions is the bruins, maybe the caps. devils hold their own in every game they play (except vs the bruins who clearly outclass them). they are never really outplayed, in fact they look dominant at times but cannot finish and marty lets in an easy counter attack. defense is a clear weak point too as they make way too many mistakes around their own net which leads to easy goals. currently playing without the rookie of the year and zajac btw. unless 2000 marty magically reappears, not expecting much of them except maybe a 1st round series win. but they are clearly better than the leafs, jets, and everyone else below them.

  6. i mean i will admit winning so much in ot and shootouts is running well, but they are not a bad team. dont think they can possibly make a run tho. they are definitely a step below the top few teams in the east, and the goalie situation is so bad.

Leafs got screwed on the goal being called back but then were not being called for anything. Officiating is so bad these days. Hopefully tomorrow night is just as good. That was an incredible game.

Here is the goal for those who want to see it

I'm not that pissed, if the leafs lost 1-0 I might be.

But remember this game? No? cause the Canucks still won, image if they lost by a goal?

don't be, for the past 3-4 seasons, the team has always been somewhere in the 7-11 seed and fails to make any push. They are a terrible 2nd half of the season team and somehow manage to lose close games to the teams just ahead of them in the standings.

for any team to have the refs make that bad of a call and call back a goal, Im glad it was the leafs.
  10. Confirmed- John Tavares is a beast
  11. 18:37 NYI Kyle Okposo 12(empty net)(Assists: John Tavares 31, Andrew MacDonald 4)4 - 2
    19:37 NYI John Tavares 22(empty net)(Assists: Kyle Okposo 15, Matt Moulson 23)5 - 2

Yeah, quite the empty net all-star. jk. He's awesome. Tied for 4th in the league in scoring now. But seriously, how often does anyone ever get 2 empty net points in 1 game.

empty net, goalie in net, doesnt matter. JT is always around the net making things happen. He dominates games

  15. Just now saw this thread. Watched the Preds-Wild game last night. What a comeback. wooohoooo
  16. i think the leafs caught more breaks tonight. pitt hit 3 posts and a pretty iffy penalty on pitt with 5 mins to go

also if anyone is interested the CHL top prospects game is on tv in canada, for americans prolly have to find a stream somewhere. its all the 2012 entry draft kids who play in Canada. Pat Quinn and Mark Recchi are the coaches.

This may technically be an all star game but they take it seriously

At 83, Mr. Hockey is still in demand and on the move. Gordie Howe is about to embark on another series of fundraisers for research into dementia.

It's a personal cause. The disease killed his wife Colleen in 2009 and is beginning to affect him.

"He's a little bit worse than last year, but pretty close to about the same," son Marty says. "He just loses a little bit more, grasping for words.

"The worst part of this disease is there's nothing you can do about it."

The Howe family hasn't chased a diagnosis of exactly what kind of dementia Gordie has. They did that with Colleen, who died at 76 of Pick's disease. Pick's is a rare form of dementia marked by changes in mood, behaviour and personality, followed by memory loss similar to that experienced in Alzheimer's.

  20. WTF Radulov?

  21. Mr. Hockey should drop the first puck in Vancouver tonight. Seen as Detroit is playing and Vancouver seems to be his second home, would be a nice gesture. Vancouver Giants are unveiling their uniform they are wearing tomorrow night to honour Mr. Hockey who is a co-owner of the team.
