I'm mostly a hip-hop guy, but I downloaded this album a few months ago due to a recommendation from a friend and it has def been played through at least 20 times on my itunes/ipod so far. I always thought Weezer was some lame, emoish band, but I honestly love this album. I don't know what it is but I love it.
Do you guys/gals listen to Weezer? Are their other albums as good as this one? -
Blue Album>>>>>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>Anything else Weezer ever made
Of course I could be wrong but I doubt it -
label standard if you must, but Pinkerton
-
edit: but this is my fave by far, acoustic here cuz im soft like that

one of my favorite rock albums. too bad they couldnt keep it up.
also Pinkerton is definitely on the same level -
I think at one point I listened to the Blue Album at least once a week for like a year straight. That opening to My Name is Jonas gets me every time. Saw them live, and that was the first thing they played, crowd went nuts.
Pinkerton, while very different, is probably as good if not better. It prob is an "emo" album but it is so fing good. Still can't decide which I like better really.

props to whoever posted that jamie video that song is so good...but ya both the blue album and pinkerton are the best weezer albums hands down. saw them live when i was in 8th grade (like7 yrs ago) when i knew like 2 of their songs after that i got all their albums and know them word for word. they are awesome live, played only in dreams as their final song and it was epic i had goosebumps for like 10 minutes

Old Weezer = the shit
New Weezer = sold out bullshit
Same exact formula with Foo Fighters. -
the blue album is the shit
pinkerton is the shit -
I don't understand all the hate on post-Pinkerton Weezer. Dope Nose, Keep Fishin, I Am The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived, Perfect Situation, Troublemaker, Photograph, If You're Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To), and Island In The Sun are all solid songs. This one is great too imo:

^The thing is The Blue Album and Pinkerton were 1) stacked from top to bottom, and 2) so different from each other is terms of style that I think most people's disappointment with everything post-Pinkerton is merely a difference of expectations and reality. Most people expected them to continue to come out with great album after great album, and evolve constantly in the process. Instead what happened is they put out a bunch of albums with a few good songs, and they just haven't evolved enough as musicians over the years. But its cool if they decided to just take it easy and get rich after the first 2 albums, b/c those two are such gifts. Thanks to the poster that put up In Dreams, I had not heard that song in years and it got me pretty pumped up.
