hi all,
i recently made a 2 month prop bet with my friend and am half way into it. the bet is for £500, and i have to lose a greater % of my body weight than he does of his.
he is a very diff build and height to me. i am 6 foot and half an inch, and (should be) slender (weighed approx 14 stone before the bet, think beer belly etc.). he is about 5 foot 9 and stockier and weighed about 13 stone before the bet.
tomorrow i will be one month into the bet and i have lost a stone so far.
this is how i have done it..
my average daily diet : wake up and have 3 weetabix with a banana and skimmed milk. either that or muesli with a banana but mainly 3 weetabix. black tea to drink.
lunch i will have a salad (lettuce, spinach, pepper, mushroom) with 2 scrambled eggs (using small amount of skimmed milk), and some sort of fish (mostly smoked salmon). maybe a small portion of brown bismati rice.
for dinner i'll have a salad again, or baked vegetables with oven cooked chicken breast. or stir fry with a tiny bit of rice. or salmon fried in soya sauce with onions and a bit of brown bismati rice and veg.
i snack on fruit like apples, grapes and bananas. sometimes i mix fat free plain yoghurt with a nectarine or orange.
i only drink water or black tea.
my average daily exercise :
i have been trying to get up in the morning and do some light free weight reps (3 sets of 8 or 20 depending on the difficulty) and then going on a 20 minute jog. because i hear if you do this without food it dips into your fat reserve.
if i eat first i will go on a 45 minute jog (4 - 5 miles). then try and go on a nother one later.
so i always exercise twice a day with some light weights.
i bicycle everywhere. and play football (soccer) 2 - 3 times a week. i go to the gym and do weights and cross training.
i do planks (stationariy stomach exercises) and sit ups at home everyday.
SO, my questions are, to intensify my training, does anyone know any startegies or stuff i can employ to lose more weight? diet i should be increasing or cutting out?
and who do you guys think is at a better advantage with regard to our builds?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. i recently lost my job and coulcn't win a hand of poker to save my bacon.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Def keep up the running on an empty stomach. I would recommend doing that everyday. I wouldnt lift weights at the same time. I would lift later in the day when you're full of energy and do one muscle group a day but do it as hard as u can with heavier weights. Try to run 2 miles on a treadmill when you run and start at a pace that isnt too hard and keep increasing it as it gets easier. Try and cut out some of the fruit as snacks sugars keep u fatty. Get rid of the tea, just drink water, and switch out egg whites for the eggs. Rest of the diet looks good. Keep it up good luck.

181 pounds (6 foot 1/2 inch) .. i weigh now, i'm not sure how much i weighed at start but about 6 1/2 kilos mores.
thanks for the advice so far shank, i'll try and replace fruit for veg when snacking.
are carrots good?
and you're saying i should seperate the egg white and just have scrambled yoke?
i'll start jogging on the empty stomach daily, thanks. -

You need more fat in your diet. Nuts are a great source (almonds being the best), or put some olive oil on your salads, etc. You have hardly any fat in this diet, and your body won't perform as well without it. Other than that it looks great, and you should win this bet easily if you can stay committed. GL

drink green tea w/ lemon, lots of water, no sodas, try some interval training instead of running at the same pace for 20/30 mins. try running for 10 (warm up) then run as fast as u can for 1 or 2 mins, then walk for a min, then jog for 5, the as fast as u can for 2 and repeat for about 20 30 mins......this increases your heartrate and boosts your metabolism for up to 48 hours, you burn fat even as u sleep

My tip is to quit doing weights. Muscle mass replacing fat will weigh twice as much. -
