chazmentals' house of hop n chop. get your ass kicked along with a good grilled steak!
-
I would really like someone to try and convince me that there is a better place in town than n9ne at the Palms.
I've eaten at a lot of good ones. Circus Circus is very solid and underrated too, agreed Chaz.
Waco should have this subject locked down I'd guess. -
I really like Smith & Wolensky's
-
I really didnt care for the steak there tbh. I ate there for my bday 2 years ago and thought it was good but nothing special at all. Now the warm bread basket is a different story..
-
Lawerys
fckin amazing
*not sure if they serve any cut except prime rib though now that i start typing -
i may not say it's the best steak i've had but the combination of service, scenery, appetizers/sides/dessert, wine/beer/liquer selection, music/vibe I think is very very good. this coming from someone that prefers the more traditional old school steak places too. tbh chaz ive only been there twice (both times tremendous overall), first ribeye excellent, 2nd just very solid.

anyone reading this that ever goes to n9ne, do yourself a favor and get the lobster mashed potatoes. they should be a food group behind fruits and veggies in and of themselves. -
N9NE and to my taste it's not even close
-
red square at mandalay bay... hands down my favorite.... great atmosphere, great steak, and great vodka/wine list
-
The search button is the best steakhouse in Vegas, hands down

Just about every place mentioned is great, but N9Ne's house rib-eye (forgot the name) served blackened & medium rare is in my top 5 list across the country.

Okay. Here is your answer. Just pure steak taste is subjective. The reason it is subjective is because a meal, even a good steak, is dependent on your mood, your attitude and it is somewhat dependent on who you are eating with and why you are eating an expensive meal at a very nice restaurant, or in the alternative, why you are eating at Chaz's house or cooking it in your own backyard.
At any rate, the question is about restuarants in Vegas. So the best one is usually the last one I have eaten at, assuming of course that I have had the usual experience of dining with friends and/or family and it is for the purpose of being a bit extravagant, spending more than normal, and having a great time.
This past Saturday we decided to go to Smith and Wollensky's, rather than Craftsteak, Delmonicos or Luxor. The bottomline is that the meat was of course good, as one would expect, the service was outstanding and the Jack Daniels was, well, Jack Daniels. What made the meal was that I was there with my Dad, my son and my nephew. Don't get me wrong, you do need a certain level of quality of food and service, but after that, it matters only who you with, why you are together eating a great steak, drinking a bit and having time together.
Enjoy your steak experience and those who you are sharing it with.

The bread basket there is unreal. I love the warm, soft pretzel, as well as the bread with the layer of marinara baked on top, sooooo good. The steak there was solid but not the best in Vegas.

WELL SAID!!

i went to Smith & Wolensky's and it was great.
Have also gone to the S & W in Boston three times and had great experience...
I have also been to PRIME and that was great tooo..
I think once u get to the top steakhouses, they are all very close....
-MOOK- -
best steak i've had-morton's (on paradise), you'll pay for it there and the ambiance is a bit stuffy and uneventful, but the best i've had by far (lobster was avg at best however). for frame of reference, I thought craftsteak was little better than average (esp in lieu of price) and imo is overrated by the posters, here.
2nd on my list is a tie between Smith & wolensky's and capitol grille. . .both have very good food and a decent atmosphere. . .
damn, I type this shit everytime someone starts a vegas steakhouse thread
