  1. i wanna be a mothafuckin hustlah, better axe somebody.
  2. agree with OP on wanting to be a rockstar. I'm forcing myself (not that I dislike playing but it's tough to find time these days) to play guitar at least an hour a day and more on the weekend. I got real damn good in college when I skipped class and played 3-4 hours a day - I could play anything. Then I graduated starting working like crazy and just let it slip away and the reality is there is nothing in this world that I love even 1 percent as much as rock/metal and I gotta get real good again and try and at least get in some kind of cover band and go from there.

There are people that will investigate you
They'll insinuate, intimidate and complicate you

i heard you play on that comedy show clip and you definitely know your stuff. would be fun if a bunch of us could get together some day and jam.
  7. would be cool to see a web cam collab if whoever could fig it out, id like to watch it
  8. bands do remote recordings all the time - would be cool if someone had access to the software to pull it off. Drummer lays down a track and emails it to the bass player - bass player adds his lines and ships it to the keyboard player - guitar next - sax - vocals. It can be done. Wish i knew how without spending a pile of cash.
  9. check unltimateguitar.com forums - i know they do shit like that there and could be good resource, or google prob knows as

edit: obv spelling above is wrong

  10. I wanted to be a paleontologist. Then I wanted to be a fighter pilot. Then a professional athlete. Then a sports writer. Then President of the United States. Then a political consultant. Then a Supreme Court Justice.

Now I just want to be Emperor of the World. So if I'm ever President and "they" introduce a Constitutional Amendment to repeal the 22nd Amendment, you should probably tell your Congressman to vote against that shit. Or don't, if the economy's good.

well, for starters you need a digital audio workstation like protools, then you can record tracks, sign up to a site like dropbox where you store your files, and you invite friends to join the same account, and they can download the files, load em up on their protools, and record their tracks. my band did it a bit.
  12. make it happen imo ... seems like you know more about this shit than i do ffs.

i've been in studios many times but have never done any home recording - and i'm technically challenged. Is this stuff expensive to buy / hard to set up?
  13. pro tools is a bit expensive, but there are certainly other software options since it does not need to be the absolute best thing available for a project like this.

  14. I got protools and a decent condenser for about 500. We could make this happen.

It only takes a day to figure out the basics of protools.

Is there a drummer in the house?

basic home studios arent much. when you start getting more serious about about sound proofing and selection of microphones then it can get pretty pricey. but like someone else mentioned, i have a good condenser, an mbox with protools 7, and a few other cheaper dynamic mics and a shure57 and probably spent less than 500. also, I have a diploma in sound engineering but after i graduated turned down a job so i could work at a music store for a week before quitting because I wanted to play poker so badly. 6 years later, im not a sound engineer, i quit poker, and going back to school in february to get trained in a more employable field lol

  20. i have ez drummer which is a good drum program software. its time consuming as hell to create original drums for songs, but if you just want basic beats and some sick pre programmed fills, it's a really sweet program
