    Over the last few years I have just ended up going to parties at my friends house that have been pretty awful. In fact, I would say that 2 of them are in my 5 worst nights out ever. Last year we just went to a club and had a pretty good night. It wasn't cheap but it wasnt too expensive. But this year we are back to the house party because my friends are too cheap to actually pay for a decent night out. I am seriously considering just staying in.

    Anyway, enough moaning from me, what are my fellow OTers doing this New Years Eve

    When I'm home I usually go to a house party.

    Last year went to a tiny blues bar in Bangkok that I like a lot. Nothing crazy but good times. This year I wanted to go to Hong Kong for NYE but that is out the window since my friend went back to the US for the holidays. I am 5 minutes away from HK border but I wouldn't be able to return to China so doesn't make much sense

    This year depends on the people I am staying with. Think we are going to a club. Supposed to be some of the better night life in Asia in this city (Shenzhen). Will hopefully be good times

    Around the World party at Westin St. Francis in San Francisco... should be good times. $100 gets you admission plus drinks.

    Staying in, making a nice dinner with a nice bottle of wine. I'm glad I'm past the having to go out for NYE time in my life.

    First mellow NYE in awhile. Newborn baby so we are at home. I will get drunk for sure though. Parents and sister are coming from the US on the 30th, so might have a small casual party with them if they don't want to go out on the town.

    Skiing all day, sushi at home that night and then my oldest son has a basketball tournament on the 1st. I wouldn't want to be do anything else this weekend.

    I would love nothing more than to do this. NYE is such an over-glorified day with slam packed bars and drinks/admission tickets that will rob u senseless.

    will be flying back to SD until 6ish so nothing to crazy this yr. Probly just go out to dinner with a few nice bottles of wine and maybe a bar after if everything isnt too packed and expensive....all depends on the flight time and any problems that Chicago Midway may give us, hate connecting thru either Chicago airports

    no kidding. i had a layover at o'hare once, and my plane left 2 hours late because of problems at the airport and not delays from the plane getting there late etc. i've made a point to never try to fly through o'hare again.

    Folks are having a big party. Will go there, then out to a club for a couple hours to do some sniff. Then back for a world record chablis drinking attempt.

    That redbull new years thing where the dirtbike guy and snowmobile guy are jumping like 400 feet over the san diego bay is like 5 miles away. Thats at like 9:00, so maybe hit that then go get some drinks.

    Got to get some ladies at some point too. Well see. I dont know shit around here, so i have no clue.

    We dont want to go out for opposite reasons. It probably has more to do with the fact that my friends all throw terrible parties.
