  1. i need ideas. starting a new job that requires alot of driving, however the car, gas and work on it will be deductible business expenses. (anyone know how extravagant a car u can get away with?)

what kind of car would you get if you had a budget of 20k or under, and were willing to buy a used car with up to say 50,000 miles on it. assume youll be driving 25k-35k miles a year just for work....and you have to drive fast on occasion. fuel economy isnt too important, but id prefer a smaller car, that handles really well and is fast. reliability is also key and power steering.

    GO (plz help)
  2. the key is resale here. go to cars.com and look up hi mileage cars and see what costs the most despite that. i find that hondas do the best at this (saving you some time), its freaking ridiculous actually.

hondas with 150k miles are still getting near 10k for them lollll. the key is to buy NEW so you get the good miles and not down repair time then sell for enough to make a nice downpayment on a new one. look over the average price drops vs miles to see where you should sell you car. honestly, you should get 100k before you have any issues.

i prefer my acura due to comfort issues but its a glorified honda. you can buy them cheaper used and loaded than a honda but cost more new than hondas, weird huh. (go figure.) they last just as long but you dont want to hang on to it after 100k most likely.
  3. sounds like good advice. i have an acura now and its lasted me 180k miles. time for a new one obv.

i had noticed accords seem ridiculous expensive used. ill go check that site.

i guess the real question is, if i plan on buying a new car every 2-3 years how much should i want to pay in depreciation per year without feeling like a doosh, and would i get in trouble if i bought like a used bmw m3 or something. lolz

  4. toyota coroll's royce obv
  5. i had to drive pretty far for a long time to go to school. Like 150 miles twice a week. So 600 per week. So if i had to do that every week throughout the entire year, that would be 31k miles. Forget the car, i would buy a freakin gun and ride that bullett home.

    Um..well..uh...ya..thats all i got for ya..hahahaha

I would say if they are paying for gas and stuff, get the most bad ass big vehicle. You dont want a small vehicle man. You want alot of head room, something that moves, and something you can put a bitchen sound system in to help you on those miles to and from work. So ef the little fast cars. You want roomy powerful shit so if you get into a crash, you will live and the other person would get crushed. I would get a freakin Powerful, safe, roomy tall vehicle. Cuz when your in traffic, the higher your view, the faster your driving experience comes. When you can see over the cars in front of you, you tend to relax more and can anticipate problems which will be less stessfull over the long miles you will be going.

If you have a fast tiny car, i think your fuckin yourself. Gas is not an option so when you look for this big ass fast mamma jamma of a vehicle, who cares about the gas mileage....

    Up your butt jobu

  6. it is true a nice sporty sedan is more comfy. just make sure you get good seats.

a charger would be a sweet ass car to roll around in but depreciation will probably blow out the ass. if you have to buy a new car all the time its nice if they pay by the mile so you can make a profit off it. a fast big car won't do that. i used to make enough off mileage to pay for all my food and drink as well as gas and then come out ahead of that still.

i had a roommate who had a sporty volvo that was pretty sweet for his sales job. fucking comfy and moved out. a nice option imo but not sure about resale or when to ditch them.
  7. let me be more specific....im taking on a serious paper delivery route where i have to deliver 350 papers in about two hours. i will drive when nobody is on the road and need to zip around through lots and make 3 point turns and crazy maneuvers. anyways no traffic to contend with, i just got to speed around town for 2 hours in the morning in something comfy. this is why i say small little cars that handle well.

i will be an independent contractor and have to pay my own expenses but they are deductible. its not a company car persay

  11. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH PAPER BOY!!!!!!!

Actually, i did this with my buddy. What i would definately recommend is not the 20k bullshit you were talkin about. Go and get a small zippy car. You probably will be working alone and now that i know what you are doing, i call bs! ok if your serious..i would suggest a little shitter that you dont give a shit about. Like maybe a CRX or even a hybrid. Some companys give you a set percentage for mileage. So they probably dont care what mileage you get so if that is the case. Go get the bottom end highest mileage small car possible.

And, screw music. You wont be able to be bumping and shit. I would get a comfortable ride that you can have an easy loading area for all your papers. You probably gonna have to fold them youself so like a hatchback would be cool. You open the back and just sit back there tossing them in. When you check out the new ride, practice throwing them out the window...like air throws. lol Man it was a bitch rolling all those papers up and putting them in bags and shit when it raind.

    Gl man..

  14. Toyota Camry
  15. Nissan Altima

Best car I've ever owned (doesnt say much for me) but seriously its been a great car. Fast, sporty, great on gas.

  16. Acura RSX, you could pick up a certified one with really low miles and be well bellow your budget. I abuse my Integra, and the thing just will not break.
  17. buy a brand new mazda 3 sport touring... sick little car and handles great. about 18K for new.
  18. Cosign Acura

Rant: "close to six figures"... lol, six figures = 100k to 999k and 99.99999% of the people who say "I make six figures" have salaries 100 to 150k.
  19. Camry all the way
  20. close means close, not that elaborate nonsense youre saying. i dont see any problem with making that much cash in a side job in that amount of time. im looking forward to being a little speed racer every day ty

  26. did you know p-diddy got his start that way? he ended up running many of the biggest routes and he would have other people deliver other routes and pay them a nice check but take more for himself. he talked about this on The Big Idea. he was making a killing at it.

i am surprised the guy before you is not running that racket. if i was you i would try to pick up more routes and have kids deliver for you while you sleep in. just pay the kid more than he would for some other job for his age and make him feel like he is making good money so he stays longer.

p-diddy said a lot of people with routes gave them up when going off to college but the guy he got his from was getting a percentage also while off at college and happy to not have to work all through college. as p-diddy expanded so did that guys check but he knew it was good for both of them.
  27. r u gonna b delivering my paper? lol
  28. how in the hell u pullin 6 figures doin this, i didit when i was like 20 at night. 7 days a wk doin pretty close to 300 a night and around 400 papers on weekend and barely made 200 a wk and still had to pay all my gas and shit. worst job ive had in my life. i would do it for 6 figures but idk how your gonna make that much in a job like this.
