    My dumbass Fox-News-listening friend called me a liberal last night because I said the military objective in Iraq had been reached and there was only political work to do now. I'm a Republican turned Libertarian because the Repulican party is just Democrat lite.

    At first I was laughing at his ignorance and then I realised how sad it is that he, and so many others, really just talk however O'Reilly wants them to and never consider critical thinking at all.

    Let me Rephrase...

    In general this is what i have noticed about Nowa and some other liberals..

    They say that America is evil and follow it up with well drawn out statements regarding what our goverment has done wrong in the past.

    They also say that America is benevolent but rarely follow this up with any kind of statement regarding what our government has done right in the past.

    If you look back at most of the Liberals posts in all these political threads....i would venture to say about 80 percent of the posts are negative in general towards our country.

    my "negatve America" posts are often in response to rosey-do-no-evil views of the actions of our government. I'm hard on this country because I expect the most from us. If we are the greatest nation in the world, we should act as an example to all.

    some things i'm proud of (not all related to government directly stemming in part from):

    technological innovation

    intellectual freedom (for the most part)

    vast interstate highway system

    rural electrification act

    stopping teh Nazis

    jazz

    abstract expressionism

    some things I'm embarrased of:

    COINTELPRO

    judicial/prison system

    state sanctioned torture

    faceless suburban monoculture

    nowapowa was simply urging you to continue on with the debate in the previous thread where your premise did not follow logic and it was pointed out. instead, you choose to point out that he was from berkely california, which (in your mind) partially discredits everything he has to say. (this was the implication of your remark - however serious it was - which provided you with an easy and meaningless retort.) so please don't come on here and pretend that you're interested in serious debate when you're clearly only interested in calling all those who don't agree with you "LIBERAL!" so you don't have to think critically about what they have to say.
