  1. Yea, so I have not bought a new mitt in a few years, well 20 years, give or take.

I'm proud to be sporting the Eric Davis model. It has served me well for many years (picture below). I just oiled it up a few days ago to recondition it again.

My son got his first mitt with a MLB star on it, Jose Reyes (no picture included).

Anyway, who's name is on your leather?

  2. Rawlings Gold Glove series, so no name.

  3. Just went into the basement to check. Hello there Robin Yount. Man I feel old.

  10. Pretty sure mine was carney lansford when I played little league.
  11. My first glove that I had until I was 12 had Dale Murphy but then I switched to more expensive gloves (Nakona and Rawlings Pro Preferred) they don't put signatures on those.
  12. I had a really nice a-2000 back when I played, I don't even remember if it had a name or not
  13. Ken griffey Jr.
  14. these threads are often followed by my wife yelling "what the hell are you looking for now?"

  20. It's 20+yrs old now lol. This is a great thread btw. It's amazing how many fond memories are tied up in our childhood baseball mitts that we don't think about nearly often enough.
  21. No kidding. I got my mitt almost exactly 27 years ago and I can still remember how it smelled when I first picked it up and slid my fingers into it (obvious jokes ahead).
  22. I bought that mitt in 1988. After Mike Schmidt retired, I was not about to buy a Von Hayes model (the best Phillie left at that point). Those were some real down years for the Phillies teams.

So, I got an Eric Davis model because he was a bad ass 5 tool player on a great team.

Just look at E.D.'s stats in 1987.

  23. This is awesome, I always thought I was the only one still with an old glove. I have a black Rod Carew model that I will use til I die. Perfect glove that I got when I was about 11 or so, so about 25 years old of use (hasn't just been sitting in the closet forever), still fits me like a glove ERP! I need to find it now and post a pic, probably my most prized possession.
  24. I'm getting all glove horny right now. I want to chew on a leather tassle.
  25. Ken Griffey Jr

  28. Nokoma...no name
  29. no name on my last mitt cause it was pretty expensive and they didnt put names on those models, but my first one was ripken jr i believe, but didnt buy it for the name, just cause it was a smaller infielders glove
