When you pull up to a gas station in a female friend's, girlfriend and/or any other fuck buddys car with the intention of fueling up while being a male do you 100% pump for that female or let them do it and when do you do the pumping?

I find it extremely odd and always assume the dude is broke as fck when I see guys sitting shotgun in some chicks car. cant remember the last time I sat in any girls passenger seat.

I'll pump it everytime. I will also open a door for a woman and give a woman my seat when needed.

In Oregon we let the mexicans pump the gas.

I offer to pump 100%, actually pump it 90%. Wife insists on doing it herself sometimes. Sometimes if I'm prepaying, she'll get out there and pump it before I'm back. I still stand out there with her tho, otherwise I'd feel like a douchebag if I sat in the car while she pumped it.

The idea of individual rights and not seeing people by groups is so ingrained in me at this point that I've never thought of pumping for even my mom when I've ridden with her. I would offer to pump for anyone, regardless of sex, if say they had a cast on a foot or similar. To me to automatically pump for someone because of the sentimentality that "women need men to take care of them" can be kind of demeaning. Am I out of line?

Only in that the philosophy teaches or comes from the point of view that everyone is an individual and therefore no such thing as "minority rights" or "women's rights", etc. Therefore it only seems logical to me to pump gas for individuals that are disabled or otherwise challenged when trying to pump gas. For those people I would offer my help as it seems the right thing to do but to do it say on a first date with a girl you don't know I could see it being viewed as an act that shows that you think all women are "disable or challenged" when it comes to pumping gas. I'm not saying there is some big problem with doing it. It is just another spot where people take a certain idea for granted without sometimes thinking about the possible unintended consequences of applying that thought process in such a way. When your five year old girl sees Daddy get out of the passenger seat to pump gas for Mommy does she understand its just an act of love or does it ingrain the idea that women "need to be taken care of". Again, not arguing to not do it. Just think about it at least.
