  1. Today is the 16th anniversary of Tupac being shot and killed leaving the Tyson fight.

I was at a small gathering of some friends, we were drinking and playing cards and had just watched the fight. Thing is I dont remember if I knew anything happened until the next day. I remember MTV had a streaming banner on the television reporting the news. All we had back then was Headline News lol. Good ol days. But ah yeah I was 18. Crazy how time flys.

  10. lol Tupac is not dead. He's out getting fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches with Elvis. Heard they were meeting up later with Jim Morrison.
  11. Most likely getting high as I was in grade 9 and just starting to experiment with drugs and alcohol
  12. Reading the thread title for a split second I was like wtf no way it's 16 years since September 11th then I realized it's the 7th today and this is referencing something else. Had no idea Tupac's death was one of those "what were you doing when this happened" situations like JFK's death, OJ's trial or 9/11, etc.

To be honest I was probably listening to rock 16 years ago not having a clue who Tupac was (still can't name one of his songs)
  13. Also kind of crazy in his song changes "I'll never live to see a black president" Guess he was right
  14. can't say for certain, but chances are very good that i beat off.

  15. i was 18 and i really didnt care if all rappers got shot at the same time
  16. I was 10 and just learning how to beat off
  17. I was in like 6th grade and some kid was talking about tupac dying the next morning in homeroom. I was white as fuck and had no clue who he was.

all i remember about this what i was devastated because I was a big 2pac fan, and had all of his albums, movies at the time. I remember cutting out the newspaper stories about it and pinning them up on my wall with all my posters and shit.

I remember when OJ got found not guilty, me and all my friends ran out of our classrooms in grade 8 and were cheering.... we were a strange bunch id say.

  21. tupac isn't dead I saw him at coachella
  22. Liked his music but was never a huge fan. I was born 25 days after him and was in Vegas at the time of his shooting working at the Showboat Casino. Definitely avoided strip on my way home from work :)

I haven't read up on it in awhile but I don't think title is accurate b/c he didn't die for another week iirc

  23. I watched the fight. Heard about Tupac and wasn't surprised by it. Not sure why it is even being brought up now. just another homicide.
  24. maybe to you, but not to a lot of other ppl dick wad.
  25. I think the biggest "where we're you when" moments from that era of 90s was when Diana died
  26. I was 16 and to be completely honest I was much more interested in the outcome of the Tyson fight then some rapper getting murdered. It wasn't until my girlfriend was crying a couple years later when Tupac and Biggie's moms were on MTV music awards or something that I realized it was a big thing to a lot of people. First world problems.

  28. My most memorable "where were you" moment in the 90's was JonBenét Ramsey

    Remember running through the snow.

i remember hearing the news about kurt in the car. i was pretty young and had just started listening to nirvana a couple years prior.

diana i remember vividly because i was like 14 and at my parent's lake house. i won't forget thinking about her kids, i couldn't have cared less about diana but those kids were close to my age and i was thinking how horrible it would be to be that age in the worldwide spotlight and have your mom die like that.
