I just learned a new way to cook FM. Pan sear both sides 2 minutes, then throw in an oven at 375, for 8 miutes!!!!!!!!!!! Came out super juicey and the best bacon wrapped filet i ever had. If i ask them to cook it this way at a reasturaunt will they laugh at me?Originally Posted by JRoth15

My wife orders it well done, I order it rare (just carry my plate past the kitchen is cooked enough).

yea, i had an older white couple come in and the lady ordered a filet "extra well done." It just made me think how rare that is (no pun intended)
Normally it's just black ppl wanting to pay $25+ for beef jerky -
bloody as hell for me

and is your wife white? Also, when you first heard her order this way, what was your initial reaction?
And fwiw, when ya'll go out, cooking her steak adds like 10 min to the time you're waiting to eat.. -
Steaks always medium-rare, burgers I go medium tho.

hmmm..ya this seems pretty weird, but i worked at On the Border for 3 years and don't remember there being an oven there either.. can anyone who waits tables confirm this? I know we have a couple warmers and a smoker.
