So yeah, heres a little back story. Before moving to cali. I let my cousin borrow my car. He was having a kid and they only had one car so I said he can borrow mine until I get back so he has something until he can get his own car. And ill just get it when I get home.
Ive been back from cali/vegas for like 3 weeks now or so. I just found out today, from my brother, that my cousin told him last night he scrapped my car. As in, sold it to a fucking junkyard for $250. I havent gotten the full story about this since he refuses to to answer my calls or texts and the only thing he said, via one text, was the his dad did it cause the engine seized when he tried to move it (which i highly doubt since the engine has zero problems).
Im fucking pissed. What makes it worse, is that I went to AC today and hopped in a tourney. I sit at my table and my cousin was sitting across from me (this was before I found out). He was acting kinda weird but whatever. On one of the breaks I asked him about the money he owes me. Its only $100, but during the week back in between vegas trips I gave him $100 to put him in a tourney and that fucker never played it. Anyway, next thing I know, he must have busted and didnt say bye to me or my brother. About an hour later my brother mentioned him scrapping my car.
The only thing i can think of is that he has some sort of drug problem that I dont know about. I mean, who does that type of shit besides crackheads? Never had a problem with him in the past but I dont know how to go about this.
Its my cousin FFS. I cant just beat him up every time I see him. That solves nothing. Im just fucking steaming mad and I have no idea how the hell I am supposed to approach this.
P.S. The car was nothing great. Just an '01 Infiniti i30. Probably worth like $3K or some shit, idk. I was only going to use it until I got back to work and bought a new car, but now im pretty much screwed with that. Sigh. -
Move back to Cali or Vegas is the only solution
-
i'd confront him and get the story. doubt you're getting your money back though.
-
Hoodrat living, hoodrat problems.
-
hold his child hostage
-
Stab him in the throat. Put kid in microwave. Pee on something.
-
Burn down his house, take what he owes you out of the insurance check.
-
Fuck his wife.

Let the rest of the family know.
He may have done this to others in your family, and sometimes families don't talk to each other about these types of things (I know first hand when my sister "borrowed" money for years from various family members without anyone figuring out that she owed a lot of people a lot of money).
Stop it now before he gets (any further) out of control. -
^^^excellent advice.

I'll play an older brother role with my answer, not trying to be preachy.
As you get older, you find out that you can't really lend any thing or $$ to anyone and expect to get anything in return. It's just the way it is. I have a laundry list of people who owe me 20 bucks up to a few thousand. I have had relatives bail on paying me back and lost a couple of vehicles along the way. Sick brag right?
You have to realize that this cousin is really none of your concern anymore. He burnt the bridge, it's over. If he ever wants to become a man and face up to you and tell you the truth and make payments, then so be it. there is really nothing you can do except get mad and angry and lose focus on your life.
Put it in perspective, it's minor compared to the big picture of life happiness and health.
p.s. fuck his wife and piss all over his couch ;) -
Pretty sure everyone in the family knows already. No way I was keeping that to myself. I immediately called my aunt (after he didnt answer) when my bro told me just to see if he heard correctly. She said she heard something about it but doesnt know the details and that I need to call him. Plus, he just nonchalantly told my two brothers and my sister about it last night.

They all talked to me today and were like, "We heard him say that and we all couldnt believe it cause we know he you didnt know." And they all told him he needs to tell me ASAP. He obv bitched out when he saw me today.
When I left i took registration and insurance off it. So he needed to title to get all that for it. Never in my mind did I think he was gonna fucking sell it. -
Tell him he owes you the cars bluebook worth + the hundo.
-
beat the shit out of him at least once. i mean what the fuck is this crap?
then read spankys post and do that, but kick is ass first -
Would love to see Jaybone on Judge Judy.
-
Then at this point, start shopping for a new car.

haven't read any responses but when you loan shit to anyone just expect to never get it or your money back. it's just easier in every way you can imagine.

1. you ain't pissed off when you don't get paid back because that was what you expected.
2. you tend to not loan anyone any fucking thing because you know you aren't getting shit back.
3. and, when you do loan some piddly-ass shit to someone and somehow get it back, it's like found money.
oh yeah, lol at him scrapping your ride, unfucking believable, wtf are people thinking? -
At first i said tl;dr
But then I went to make a poop -

Ask him where he scrapped it and for how much? $250? Wtf were you driving a Schwinn?
On one hand I want to say fuck it, its only $250 chalk up the loss. On the other hand, I want to say wtf he sold your car make his life hell.
And yea, I clearly dont give a fuck about the $250. Thats like saying, "hey heres my car, but if I dont get it back, you owe me $250."
lol, It wasnt a toaster FFS, it was a car. Ive borrowed cars and let friends fam borrow my car before. But who ever thinks, "hey, i should probably take this to a junkyard instead of returning it." -
If it was worth 3k, tell that bish he owes you 4k for the hassle.
