  1. Lets say your two lowest rounds are a 5 over par 75 and a 4 over par 76....

Both courses are roughly the same slope/rating and the total yardage is with in 50 yrds as well.

Which round would you consider to be your best round?
  2. 4 over. Sick Brag by the way. haha

  3. Four over par... on the score board +4

Five over par.. on the score board +5

    Hole in one.... priceless~
  4. I'd say 75, because when you brag post your best score ever you don't say "4 over" you'd say the number that you put up.

At least that is what I would do, if you want to sound like a clown and answer it with 4 over that is your choice I guess
  5. +4 obv

yah, thats why I was asking. People all the time will ask what your best round is... So I was wondering how that question would be answerd with the 2 scenerios above.

  8. ur best score is a +4, ur lowest round is a 75

    ezgame
  9. wow cool post OP!!! this is definately not pointless
  10. 75 i guess

which round did you feel better about.
  11. probably the 75 was a better round, because if it was a par 70 the course most likely only had two par 5's. Par 5's are generally easier than par 4's, so you had fewer chances to make a birdie on the par 5's.
  12. 4 over OBV

idk, pretty hard to say. I guess the 76 (plus i beat my dad 4 and 3. I'm like 1 for my last 20 against him lol) b/c it came ten years after the 75 when i was playing 36 holes a day.

Thought this would have been a good debate... guess not.

  14. 76 is your better score. +4 is <<<< +5.

If you go to an executive course (basically all par 3's with 3 or 4 par 4's on it, and shoot a 61, that is not your best score ever).
  15. Hands down 4 over par. As someone said previously, a 75 could mean any number of things, and you base skill on how your score relates to par.

If this is the case, than the 75 is the best round. If your looking for some sort of an objective measure, than whatever the better round index # is would be the "best" round, regardless of what par is.

If the course ratings were appropriately relative to par, count me as a vote for the 4-over 76.
  17. 75>76 in this case...

got a better one for you...last Oct I had 18 pars and shot 72...my career low is 69...which is better? the 69 tho I finished with 11 straight pars...

there is no way 75 is better than 76 in this case. +4 is better than +5. regardless of anything.

and your 69 vs 72? is that a joke question. whether it was a par 70, 71, or 72, anything under par is better than even par. Even if it was bogey free.

Anyone who disagrees with any of this logic seriously needs to understand what the purpose of golf is to do.
