  1. growing up you learn all kinds of shit, like people cant be trusted

and that you should trust people and love and shit

and that you give someone a foot and they'll take a yard

    and other's opinions are overrated

    and reputation gets you places

but my hardest lesson, is when its 2;20 AM and i got some beer and some speakers and some blue grass and when to call it quits... with no authority i'm lible to drink and horribly sing myself into the sunrise

what are your lessons and shit

    Why would anyone say that?

It's the easiest thing to do once you're an adult.

Listen, my ears may not be able to process complicated speech like "No" or "stop" but I'm not a pedophile.
  8. Responsibility.

It sucks, but the responsibilities tied to being an "adult" (however you want to define the term) become increasingly more important as you get older. It starts from finding your passion/finding the path you want to lead your life, to finding someone to share your life with, to starting a family, having kids, and supporting that family. That's the simple way to look at it imo.

edit: I really miss high school now...

i love that i went hard with drugs early on... when you're looking at that new speaker system or kayak or TV and you're like, fuck man... 500$, thats unreal, i just look back and think, thats like a half ounce of blow or a huge bag of pills or a few hard nights on 30's, just ship it... now that i've cooled it on drugs (lol what) well.... now that i'm no longer a fucking putrid puts i have some extra money and my past as a fucking puke monkey has lead me to a complete disrespect for money, coupled by gambling, i can really enjoy the finer things in life like a rich dude on a broke bitch's budget.... i think people that live all proper and what not are doing it wrong, i'm not talking about going into debt but i am talking about living it the fuck up

work at a restaurant, eat surpreme food for free, drink the absolute best and live it up a few times a week and live the remainder like the broke bitch you are

    changing it to...

    acquire money

    have sex

love someone or something unconditionally, at least once

    be generous

    be humble

and try your best to be fair and honest to your own morals / ideals

but mainly, acquire money, and fuck women

  16. Having so many choices and being allowed to follow through with any of them. THere is a certain comfort that comes when everything is decided for you. It can be so intimidating that people end up living with their parents well into their twenties or making other bad decisions.
  17. I was typing a good response then got tired and said fuck this and didn't bother posting it.

  27. for me it is starting to watch people die. Nobody ever seemed to die when I was 12.

  28. Responsibility (for yourself, but then for others as well).
Moderation (you can't continue to go into work hungover)
Budgeting (you can't continue to blow money on stupid shit)
Tolerance (you have to tolerate that stupid people will have control over you)

  29. Watching the end of Stand By Me... tough to watch because I loved that movie as a little kid, and it's a pretty true message imo.

  30. Some really good answers.

I guess one of the hardest things for me is feeling too guilty to turn to people for help. As an adult you feel like you have to be able to handle things on your own and that you should be able to figure things out. I almost let myself get into trouble with trying to pay off some medical bills and I felt like it was something I need to do since I was ann adult. My stepdad wound up paying them off as a Christmas gift since I never ask for help, but sometimes its hard to deal with feeling alone.

Also learning to change. As a kid you feel like you are awesome the way you are and that you shouldnt have to change. Kids are jsut stubborn but as an adult i have realized that there are small changes you have to make to yourself to be truly happy. I have difficulity letting goi of control but in order for me and Josh to be equals in this relationship I need to sometimes let go of control and let him take the lead, but its hard. To be a happy adult I think recogizing the changes you need to make is so hard.
