Whats wrong with me?

    I cant drive on the highway.

    Its hard to explain how i feel but everytime i get on it i get like super nervous/feel like im almost like going to pass out or cant breathe. Im sure its gotta be psychological but i refuse to even attempt to drive on the highway anymore, last time i tried i literally had to pull over on the shoulder of a super busy highway and stop. This was literally like right once i got on the highway too just coming off the ramp to get on the highway.

    Anyone have stuff like this happen or any OT doctors advice?

    (in before you're a pussy blah blah) Truse me i think im a pussy too because of it

    I don't drive the freeways in vegas either.

    Not because I'm scared, but because I like to get to my destination on time.

    why not just drive slow on the highway, although then you might get killed if you encounter a stop light

    Nah its only became a problem over the past few years. It seems to gradually gotten worse and now to the point where i wont even go on the highway anymore. Also ive never been in a car accident ever

    Solution: Niceguy drives you around in your car on the highway and you bring a plate and pretend you're driving shotgun. Anytime Niceguy makes a move you don't, he gets to punch you in the gut.

    In fairness there are turns on the vegas freeway that are @ 45 degree angles, so if you look out your window basically all you see is ground. Logically, like a roller coaster, the centrifugal force will keep you in the lane and the car on ground, but illogically "fuuuuck fuck fuck" which would get considerably worse if you're nervous already. Couple that with shitty out of town drivers who signal for an exit then "whoops wrong one" and cut back in like maniacs. Shit after all this, hand me a plate too dams we'll get waco to drive.

    The last 7 or so exits of the NJ turnpike headed north during rush hour or fri sat night prime time is my #1 of all time. I've driven the eastern to middle of the country a few times.

    Sounds like you've developed an anxiety disorder. I had something similar but with big cities. When I'd drive and get close to one I would be on a verge of a panic attack. The mind is powerful and it completely talks you into this. You have to work to keep your mind off it and re-train it essentially. Put some music on that you know that will help you feel comfortable and just prove to yourself that you can do it. Eventually you'll get over it. If not seek a dr's advice, i'm sure he'll prescribe you anxiety meds.
